Upcoming Husqvarna Noren 901: First Look Revealed

When the Husqvarna Noren 901 adventure bike debuted in concept form in 2019, we were blown away. When Husqvarna unveiled the equally stunning-looking yet functional production version in November 2021, it made us swoon even more. In a little over a year, the Norden will receive the Norden 901 Expedition edition, which will be an even more extreme variant. The motorcycle was observed at a dealer event abroad, suggesting that it would appear internationally the following month.

Despite the Husky Norden 901's already impressive capabilities, the Expedition edition ups the ante with a longer, thicker 48mm WP Xplor fork that has almost 20mm more travel (241mm) than the 43mm WP Apex USDs featured on the normal bike. The WP Xplor rear mono-shock has even been installed in place of the WP Apex unit. In addition, the wheelbase is 22mm longer than before because of the longer fork. As a result, the hardware modifications should have an impact on the bike's ground clearance and seat height.

The homologation records reveal a 104.6PS, 110Nm 889cc parallel-twin engine, but the bike will apparently also include a riding mode called "Explorer", which is normally an extra on conventional models. Additionally, heated grips, a seat, and a GPS mount are apparently included. The addition of a pair of soft panniers and a beefier metal bash plate to cover the engine, fuel tanks, and undercarriage are further noteworthy additions.

Husqvarna will be able to compete with other well-known ADVs in the market, such as the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, BMW F 850 GS Adventure, and its Austrian twin, the KTM 890 Adventure R, once the Expedition model becomes available.
