TVS Electric Scooter Sales Cross 10 Lakh Units in India

TVS Motor Company has reached a major milestone in India's electric two-wheeler market. The company has crossed 10 lakh cumulative electric vehicle sales, marking steady growth since entering the segment in 2020. Moreover, TVS currently leads the electric two-wheeler market with nearly 25 percent share recorded in May 2026. Rising customer interest and wider availability have supported this growth. In addition, the company is expected to achieve another major sales record during 2026.

TVS Reaches 10 Lakh EV Sales Milestone

TVS entered the electric two-wheeler segment in January 2020 with the launch of the iQube scooter. However, sales remained limited during the early period because availability was restricted to selected cities. The company gradually expanded its reach across the country. Therefore, sales numbers started increasing at a faster pace every year.

At the beginning, TVS held only around one percent market share in the electric two-wheeler segment. It took nearly three years for the company to achieve its first one lakh cumulative sales. However, the second one lakh sales milestone was reached within the following ten months.

Sales Growth Accelerated Over the Years

The electric two-wheeler market faced some challenges during 2023 and 2024. However, TVS continued expanding its sales network and customer base. As a result, cumulative EV sales touched three lakh units after more than four years in the market.

Thereafter, growth became much faster. The company added another four lakh units within seventeen months. Moreover, sales increased further between October and December 2025, when one lakh additional units were sold within only three months.

During the same period, TVS introduced the Orbiter electric scooter. Hence, the company gained stronger visibility in the growing EV market.

TVS Leads the Electric Two-Wheeler Market

TVS achieved the 10 lakh cumulative EV sales milestone during 2026. In addition, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly EV sales of 51,605 units in May 2026.

This figure stands among the highest monthly electric two-wheeler sales recorded in India. Furthermore, TVS has maintained its position as the country's leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer since April 2025.

The company's market share increased from around one percent in 2020 to more than twenty percent by 2023. Therefore, TVS emerged as the segment leader with annual EV sales of 3,15,083 units during 2025.

Half a Million EV Sales Possible in 2026

TVS has already sold 2,19,232 electric scooters during 2026. This number equals nearly seventy percent of its total EV sales achieved in 2025.

Moreover, the festive season is still ahead, which could support higher demand in coming months. Therefore, TVS may achieve five lakh electric scooter sales within a single year.

Industry sales are also growing steadily across the country. Hence, annual electric two-wheeler sales in India could cross the 20 lakh mark for the first time during 2026.
