River EV has launched the Indie Gen 3, the newest version of its electric scooter. The latest update focuses on improving ride quality, adding smarter app features, and giving riders more confidence in different road conditions. Let’s know more about this electric scooter in detail.
One of the major updates comes in the form of new tyres from Ceat. The front tyre now has an 11mm taller sidewall, which should make the scooter feel smoother and more stable on rough roads. Both front and rear tyres get upgraded internal belts that are designed to absorb impacts better and increase overall tyre life. River says these new tyres will offer better grip and durability, though real-world testing will confirm these claims.
The scooter’s 6-inch LCD console remains the same in size, but River has updated the layout to make it easier to read while riding. In addition, the company has improved app integration, which now includes features like ride statistics, hill-hold assist, customizable data points, and real-time charging status. These upgrades make the scooter more connected and user-friendly.
Apart from the tyre and connectivity upgrades, the rest of the scooter remains unchanged. It still offers segment-leading storage with a 43-litre underseat compartment and a 12-litre lockable front glove box. Riders can also opt for accessories like pannier stays, top boxes, and bag hooks to make daily commuting easier.
The scooter continues to deliver a top speed of 90 kmph and uses a 4kWh battery that claims a range of 120 km on a single charge. It comes with three riding modes, including Eco, Ride, and Rush, to suit different riding styles and needs.
The River Indie Gen 3 is priced at Rs 1,45,999 (ex-showroom), the same as the previous version. It is available in five colours: Summer Red, Monsoon Blue, Spring Yellow, Winter White, and Storm Grey. Along with the scooter, River is also offering an extended warranty package for Rs 8,399 plus GST. This offer is valid for both new and existing customers, but only for a limited time.
Alongside the launch, River EV has opened its first North India store in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. This brings its total store count to 34. The company aims to expand to 80 locations by March 2026, covering key states like Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
