Norton Motorcycles has revealed a new 450cc urban motorcycle as part of its global expansion plans. The new model marks the British manufacturer's entry into another motorcycle category as it continues to rebuild its product range under TVS Motor Company. It gets a 454cc single-cylinder engine, an aluminium frame and modern rider technology.
The company has not revealed the motorcycle's official name yet. However, it has confirmed that sales will begin in 2027, with the name announcement scheduled ahead of its launch.
The new Norton 450 uses a liquid-cooled, 454cc single cylinder engine that produces 45Nm of torque. Norton says the engine focuses on responsive performance that riders can access easily. It also gets an aluminium frame to support agile handling and rider control.
On the technology front, the motorcycle features an 8 inch TFT touchscreen with advanced connectivity features. Norton has not shared further details about its electronics or other equipment yet.
Its design follows the brand's latest styling direction, featuring balanced proportions, a strong stance and carefully finished surfaces. The company aims to bring its signature design and engineering approach to a wider group of motorcycle buyers.
This announcement follows Norton's showcase of four new motorcycles at EICMA 2025. The company introduced the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT at the event. Deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas have started in European markets, while the Manx and Atlas GT will arrive later.
Furthermore, the Manx R received the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept. Norton is also developing a new global showroom concept with Foster + Partners.
Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said: "Norton has never been defined just by engine capacity or a particular category of motorcycle. It is defined by its character, its design, engineering and the emotional connection it creates with riders. Our vision is to bring this compelling experience forward to a new generation of customers while remaining true to the principles that define Norton now and into the future.”
“With the Manx R, we demonstrated our reinterpretation of Norton for the modern era through uncompromising, modern design with distinctive performance. The new Norton 450 urban motorcycle carries the same approach into an entirely new category. It is not simply about extending our product range; it is about creating motorcycles with their own identity, each unmistakably Norton.”
“Supported by TVS Motor Company's long-term commitment, global engineering capabilities and investment in the brand, we are building a new generation of Norton motorcycles for customers around the world. Our strategy is to establish Norton as one of the most desirable names in modern motorcycling, recognised for exceptional design, engaging performance and a truly discerning ownership experience."
Norton currently operates more than 50 retail locations across 10 markets, including the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. The company is also preparing to enter India and the United States.
TVS Motor Company continues to support the brand through its engineering facilities in the UK and Italy, along with its R&D operations in India. The new 450cc bike will play an important role in Norton's international growth plans, with sales scheduled to start in 2027.
