MATTER AERA 5000+ Debuts as EV Bike in Mumbai

The much-awaited MATTER AERA 5000+, India’s first geared electric motorcycle, has finally launched in Mumbai after successful rollouts in Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Ahmedabad. With its bold design, advanced features, and a unique riding experience, the AERA 5000+ promises to change how Mumbai rides.

Bold New Chapter in EV Mobility

MATTER officially launched the AERA 5000+ in Mumbai with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.93 lakh. This electric motorcycle is the first in the country to come with a 4-speed HyperShift manual gearbox. This feature gives it the feel of a petrol bike, while still being electric. Riders can enjoy gear shifts and the instant power of an electric motor in one package.
The MATTER AERA is built for both performance and everyday use. It features a 5kWh liquid-cooled powertrain, certified 172 km range, and a smart 7-inch touchscreen. These features make it suitable for Mumbai’s heat, traffic, and fast-paced lifestyle.

Made for Indian Roads

What makes the AERA special is that it’s designed and developed entirely in India. MATTER has built the powertrain, battery, and technology from scratch. This makes the AERA not only smart but also strong enough for local conditions.

The 7-inch touchscreen dashboard includes navigation, ride data, music controls, and over-the-air updates. It also supports the MATTERVerse application for remote controls and tracking. A Smart Key allows keyless start and adds to rider comfort.

The bike can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, which is helpful for quick moves in traffic. It has dual disc brakes with ABS and park assist, which makes riding safe in crowded areas.

Promising Cost Savings and Support

The AERA offers a running cost of just 25 paise per kilometre. MATTER claims it can help riders save up to Rs. 1 lakh over three years in a city like Mumbai. A major plus is the Lifetime Battery Warranty, which gives buyers confidence in long-term use.

Bookings for the AERA 5000+ are now open on the company’s official website. MATTER has also announced the opening of an Experience Centre at Saki Naka Junction, Andheri. Here, interested riders can check out the features and even test ride the motorcycle.

With over 1,000 riders across India already taking experience rides, the AERA 5000+ is building a strong rider base. Its arrival in Mumbai is more than a product launch it signals a shift in how people see electric bikes.
