KTM is getting ready to introduce the RC 160 in India, and recent spy images have revealed many important details about the upcoming motorcycle. The bike has been spotted testing without any camouflage, which suggests that its launch could happen in the coming weeks or early 2026. The expected price is likely to be between Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it directly against the Yamaha R15 V4.
From the images, it is clear that the KTM RC 160 closely follows the design of the RC 200. In fact, the overall styling, body panels, and graphics look almost identical. In addition, the bike features a sharp front fairing, aggressive headlamp design, clip-on handlebars, and fairing-mounted mirrors. Perhaps this approach helps KTM keep costs in check while offering a premium look.
The RC 160 will use the same frame as the Duke 160, and it will come with a committed riding posture. Low handlebars and rear-set footpegs should make it appealing to riders looking for a proper supersport feel.
The KTM RC 160 is powered by a 164.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine already seen on the Duke 160. This engine produces around 18.7hp and 15.5 Nm, which is a noticeable improvement over the older RC 125. However, KTM may tweak the gearing slightly to offer better top-end performance on the RC.
Compared to rivals, the RC 160 offers more power than the Yamaha R15, while still sitting below the RC 200 in KTM’s range.
The RC 160 is expected to get WP Apex USD front forks, a rear monoshock, and lightweight alloy wheels. The brakes include a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.
In addition, KTM may offer a digital LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. There is also a chance of a bi-directional quick-shifter, which would further strengthen its position in the segment.
The KTM RC 160 will become the brand’s new entry-level RC model, effectively replacing the RC 125. While KTM has not officially confirmed the launch date, testing is clearly underway. Once launched, it will directly rival the Yamaha R15 V4 and offer buyers a more powerful and aggressive alternative in the 150–160cc supersport category.
