KTM India has officially launched the RC 160 in the Indian market at a price of Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). KTM strengthens its supersport portfolio by introducing a new entry-level fully faired motorcycle. The RC 160 sits below the RC 200 and RC 390, and effectively replaces the discontinued RC 125. Perhaps more importantly, it mirrors the role played by the 160 Duke by offering a sporty yet accessible option for enthusiasts.

In terms of design, the KTM RC 160 closely follows the styling of its larger siblings, especially the RC 200. It features an aggressive full fairing, a sharp LED headlamp with integrated DRLs, a windscreen, and sporty clip-on handlebars.
In addition, the fuel tank flows neatly into the split-seat setup, enhancing its race-focused appeal. Currently, the motorcycle is available only in a black colour scheme with white and orange graphics. However, KTM may introduce more colour options in the near future.
The RC 160 is a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is also seen on the 160 Duke. This motor produces around 18.7 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. KTM claims a top speed of 118 kmph, which makes it one of the quickest motorcycles in its segment.
The RC 160 is built around a trellis frame and comes equipped with 37 mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. It has a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, offering stability and confidence.
In addition, the motorcycle features full LED lighting and an LCD instrument cluster. While it does not get a TFT display like the updated 160 Duke, the TA variant adds navigation support, which enhances everyday usability.
At Rs 1.85 lakh, the KTM RC 160 is priced around Rs 15,000 higher than the 160 Duke and nearly Rs 19,000 more than its main rival, the Yamaha R15. However, KTM justifies the premium with its bigger-bike styling, stronger hardware, and sporty character.
