Hero MotoCorp is testing a next-generation Glamour 125 with tech that has never been seen in this class before. Spy shots reveal a cruise control toggle, a fully digital LCD display, Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging, all built on the familiar mechanicals of the current model.
The launch is expected during the festive season, and these upgrades could shake up the budget commuter space by bringing premium features to a sub-Rs 1 lakh bike. Let’s know more about this upcoming Hero bike.
Hero appears to be pioneering cruise control in the 125cc commuter category. This feature is usually reserved for high-end bikes and has been spotted on the right handlebar switchgear below the ignition.
While some riders may question its use in city traffic, it would offer significant ease during highway stretches and long rides. Hero seems to be testing if this tech can trickle down from its electric Vida scooters to its petrol models.
The upcoming Glamour 125 is also getting a fully digital LCD instrument cluster that is likely similar to the unit in the Xtreme 250R. The console seems Bluetooth enabled with features like turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, and even USB charging right under it. Moreover, the LED indicators have replaced old bulbs, giving the bike a more refined and contemporary appearance.
Though mostly camouflaged, the test mule suggests the new Glamour will have a sharp design makeover with sleeker fuel tank panels and new switchgear while keeping the existing frame and mechanical layout. Key commuter elements like the telescopic front fork, saree guard, single-piece seat, enclosed chain cover and grab rail are expected to remain.
