Hero Karizma XMR 210 Base Variant Removed from Lineup

The Hero Karizma XMR 210 base variant has officially been discontinued in the Indian market. This move comes shortly after the company updated the motorcycle with a new inverted fork and TFT display.

The older version with telescopic forks and a basic LCD console was rebranded as the base variant. Now, Hero has removed this version from its website, leaving only the Top and Combat Edition variants on sale. The latest change increases the starting price of the Karizma lineup significantly.

Karizma XMR 210 Was Reintroduced With High Expectations

This bike model was re-launched in 2023 with the hopes of reviving the brand’s legacy. While it offered good performance and features, it couldn’t match the success of the older Karizma models due to lower sales. Even with the latest design and updates, the bike struggled to attract strong sales in a very competitive segment.

Hero Removes Base Variant Without Official Statement

Hero MotoCorp has not issued any statement explaining why the base variant has been taken off the market. Earlier, the base version was priced at Rs. 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom) and was considered a value-for-money option.

It had simpler hardware, including a telescopic front fork and a smartphone-connected LCD console. After Hero launched the updated version with an inverted fork and TFT display, the old one continued as a base model. Now, that option is no longer available to buyers.

Only Top and Combat Edition Variants Now Available

The Karizma XMR 210 is now available in two variants, including the Top and Combat Edition. The Top variant is priced at Rs. 1,99,750, while the Combat Edition costs Rs. 2,01,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both variants come with upgraded hardware, including an inverted front fork and a new 4.2-inch TFT console. The new console offers smartphone connectivity, call and SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. While these upgrades improve the feature list, they also increase the price quite a bit.

Karizma Now Costs More Than Hero Xtreme 250R

With the discontinuation of the base variant, the Karizma XMR 210 is now more expensive than the upcoming Hero Xtreme 250R. The Xtreme 250R starts at Rs. 1,79,999 (ex-showroom), making it Rs. 20,000 cheaper than the Karizma’s Top variant.

It also offers better performance and more modern features for a lower price. This price gap may cause buyers to shift to the Xtreme 250R instead of choosing the Karizma.

Sales Figures of Karizma Show a Big Drop

Hero Karizma XMR 210’s sales have seen a sharp decline in recent months. According to SIAM data, Hero sold only 72 units in May 2025. That number dropped further to just 16 units in June 2025.

A year earlier, in June 2024, the company sold 476 units of the same bike. This fall in numbers could be a reason why the base variant has been removed.

Same Engine and Setup Across All Current Variants

Mechanically, the Karizma XMR 210 remains the same across all variants. It continues to come with a 210cc, liquid-cooled engine. This motor produces 25.5PS of power and 20.4Nm of torque.

The bike has a 6-speed gearbox that offers good performance for both city and highway rides. The only changes are in the suspension and console features, while the engine remains untouched.

Hero has not confirmed if it plans to bring back the base variant or introduce any other updates soon. For now, the Karizma XMR 210 will only be available in its fully loaded form.
