Hero MotoCorp has shared an important update about its future plans. The company will introduce flex fuel versions of all its two-wheelers in the next one to two years. This step will help reduce fuel costs and support cleaner mobility in India.

What is Flex Fuel and Why Does It Matter?

Flex fuel means the bike can run on petrol mixed with ethanol. The E85 fuel contains 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. The government is also encouraging this change to reduce crude oil imports.

In addition, Hero is ready to bring these models, but it will launch them step by step. This depends on how easily ethanol becomes available across the country. Perhaps, this will make fuel more affordable for daily users in the future.

Retrofit Kits for Older Bikes

Hero is not only focusing on new bikes. The company is also working on retrofit kits for older BS6 two-wheelers. This means existing users can upgrade their bikes to flex fuel without buying a new one.

However, the rollout will depend on approvals and fuel supply. Still, this move can benefit a large number of riders.

Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe Lead the Way

Hero has already started its journey in this segment. The company recently launched E85-compliant versions of Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe. These are among the most popular bikes in India.

These models were developed at Hero’s Centre for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur. Moreover, the company plans to start deliveries from 2026. Initially, the bikes will be available in Delhi and some parts of Maharashtra.

What to Expect Next?

Hero also shared that these bikes can be upgraded to support E100 fuel in the future. This shows the company’s long-term vision.

Overall, this step can make daily commuting more affordable. In addition, it supports the government’s goal of cleaner and greener mobility.
