Harley-Davidson motorcycles in India have become more expensive & the reason is the revised GST structure. Every bike above 350cc now attracts 40% tax. Price hikes range between Rs 1.03 lakh and Rs 3.45 lakh, with the premium touring range most affected. In addition, the Harley-Davidson X440 remains unchanged, as the company has absorbed the additional tax burden for customers.

The new tax rules have resulted in different hikes for different models. Premium touring bikes have recorded the steepest increase, particularly the Road Glide. Its price has risen from Rs 42.30 lakh to Rs 45.75 lakh, showing a difference of Rs 3.45 lakh. Similarly, the Street Glide has seen an increase of Rs 3.20 lakh, pushing its price to Rs 42.50 lakh.

The new price list highlights the impact of the GST revision across Harley-Davidson’s motorcycles. Cruisers and sport models have also become more expensive, though increases are lower compared to touring motorcycles.

Hence, the X440 remains the most affordable Harley-Davidson motorcycle in India, attracting budget-conscious buyers who want Harley styling at lower ownership costs.
The revised GST rules have not only affected Harley-Davidson. On the other hand, premium brands, including Ducati and BMW Motorrad, have also increased their prices. Besides, Harley-Davidson's wide portfolio ensures Indian consumers will have to pay higher prices.
