FADA Sales Report May 2025 : 2-Wheeler Sales Increased by 7.31%, 16,52,637 Units Sold

FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) has announced its May 2025 sales report, which registered a YoY increase of 7.31% and a MoM decline of 2.02%. 

In May 2025, the industry clocked in a total sales volume of 16,52,637 units, whereas in May 2024, the industry saw sales of 15,40,077 units. This resulted in a 7.31% increase in YoY growth. However, a 2.02% decline in MoM sales is observed, as sales figures in April 2025 were 16,86,774 units.

• Hero MotoCorp LTD sold the most two-wheelers in May 2025, with 499,036 units. Hero is an 11.79% increase from the 446,404 units they sold in May 2024. Moreover, their market share increased by 4.18%.
• Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India came in second, selling 393,383 units in May 2025. This is a 0.35% growth from the 392,030 units they sold in May 2024. However, their market share declined by 6.49%.
• TVS Motor Company Ltd. was third, selling 309,285 units in May 2025 compared to 263,977 units sold in May 2024. Their sales increased by 17.16%, and their market share increased by 9.18%.
• Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s sales increased by 5.30% to 184,831 units in May 2025, compared to 175,535 two-wheelers last year. Moreover, its market share dropped slightly to 1.88%.
• Suzuki Motorcycle India witnessed a 6.35% YoY growth, with 87,519 units sold in May 2025, compared to 82,292 in May 2024. Suzuki’s market share degrowth by 0.89%.
• Royal Enfield motorcycles experienced an 18.63% growth in sales, with 76,608 units sold in May 2025, up from 64,577 last year. Its market share increased to 10.55%.
• Yamaha India sold 50,388 units in May 2025, representing a 7.85% decline from the 54,679 units sold in May 2024. Moreover, their market share declined to 14.12%.
• In May 2025, Ola Electric reported total sales of 18,501, a decline of 50.52% compared to May 2024 sales of 37,389 units. Moreover, the company also experienced a drop of 53.89% in the market share.
• Ather Energy Pvt Ltd sold 12,856 units in May 2025. For comparison, the company registered sales of 6,154 units in May 2024, reporting an impressive growth of 108.90%. Moreover, on the market share front, the company also experienced a 94.68% increase this month.
• Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd clocked in a total sales unit of 4,178 in May 2025, as compared to 1,958 units sold in May 2024. Due to this, the company saw a growth of 113.38% this month. Apart from this, the company experienced a 98.85% increase in its market share for May 2025.
• Piaggio sold 2,355 units in May 2025, a 23.71% decrease from the 3,087 units sold in May 2024. The company’s market share also dropped slightly to 28.91%.
• Classic Legends, which offers retro-style motorcycles, sold 1,965 units in May 2025. This represents a 21.59% drop from the 2,506 units sold in May 2024, and their market share declined to 26.93%.
• The "Others Including EV" category showed an increase of 23.64% YoY, with sales of 11,732 units, compared to 9,489 in May 2024.
