FADA Sales Report August 2023 Reveals Impressive 2-Wheeler 2.14% MoM & 6.29% YoY RISE!

FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) has released its August 2023 sales report that showcased a YoY increase of 6.29% and an MoM rise of 2.14%. 
 

In August 2023, the industry clocked in a total sales volume of 12,54,444 units, whereas in August 2022, the industry saw sales of 11,80,230 units. This resulted in a 6.29% increase in terms of YoY growth and a 2.14% increase in terms of MoM growth.
 

Top 3 Manufacturers With Highest 2-Wheeler Sales Figures & Market Share

Hero MotoCorp LTD, yet again took the crown of selling the highest number of 2-wheelers in August 2023. The manufacturer reported a total sales volume of 348,026 units last month. However, as compared to last year’s same month, the company sold 345,366 units, translating into a YOY sales rise of 0.77%. The company also experienced a fall in its market share by 5.19%. 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India took the next spot, right after Hero MotoCorp. The company experienced a total sales unit of 310,091 in August 2023, leading to a minor 0.59% rise in its YoY sales growth when compared to 308,262 sales numbers registered in August 2022. In terms of market share, the company experienced a major fall of 5.36%.

TVS Motor Company Ltd took the 3rd position registering a total sales unit of 224,907 in August 2023, marking a decent YoY growth of 15.63% when compared to sales figures of August 2022, which was 194,501. Subsequently, the company also experienced an increase in its market share by 8.79% in August 2023.

Top 3 ELECTRIC Manufacturers With Highest 2-Wheeler Sales Figures & Market Share

In August 2023, Ola Electric, as usual, took the first position in the electric two-wheeler market for selling the highest number of EVs. The company reported total sales figures of 18,628 in August 2023, marking a massive growth of a whopping 435.90% when compared to August 2022 sales figures of 3,476. Moreover, the company also gained a market share rise of 404.20%, which is the highest ever recorded by the brand. 

Ather Energy Pvt Ltd took the next position after Ola Electric by selling 7,064 units in August 2023. For comparison, the company registered sales of 5,376 units in August 2022, reporting a decent growth of 31.40%. In addition, the company also experienced remarkable growth in terms of its market share, which grew by 23.63%. 

And last but not least, the third position on the list is held by Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd for the month of August 2023. The company clocked in a total sales unit of 2,973 in August 2023, as compared to 3,501 units sold in August 2022. Due to this, the company saw a major dip of 15.08% this month. Apart from this, the company also experienced a major drop in its market share by 20.11% for the month of August 2023.
