
FADA has released the May 2026 two-wheeler retail sales data, showing steady growth in the Indian market. A total of 1,844,947 units were sold in May 2026, compared to 1,755,581 units in May 2025. This reflects an overall 7.54% year-on-year increase, supported by strong demand in both petrol and electric two-wheelers.

Hero MotoCorp remained the market leader with 517,951 units sold in May 2026, compared to 507,323 units last year. This resulted in a 2.09% growth. However, its market share dropped by 5.07%, showing increasing competition.
Honda secured the second spot with 452,420 units, up from 413,597 units. The company posted a 9.39% growth, along with a 1.70% rise in market share, indicating stable performance.
TVS delivered a strong performance, selling 356,352 units compared to 319,518 units last year. This marked an impressive 11.53% growth, with market share increasing by 3.76%.
Bajaj Auto sold 197,738 units, slightly higher than 193,944 units last year. This shows a 1.96% growth, but its market share declined by 5.13%.
Suzuki recorded 97,885 units, up from 93,114 units. The brand saw a 5.12% growth, though market share dropped by 2.21%.
Royal Enfield sold 84,480 units, compared to 81,672 units last year. This reflects a 3.44% growth, but market share declined by 3.78%.
Yamaha reported 60,625 units, up from 52,041 units. The company posted a strong 16.49% growth, with market share increasing by 8.58%.
Ather Energy emerged as one of the fastest-growing brands, selling 28,240 units compared to 14,101 units last year. This resulted in a massive 100.27% growth, along with an 86.59% jump in market share.
Ola Electric saw a decline, selling 15,141 units versus 18,967 units last year. This reflects a 20.17% drop, with market share falling by 26.13%.
Greaves Electric sold 7,695 units, up from 4,325 units. The company recorded a strong 77.92% growth, with market share rising by 68.00%.
Classic Legends registered 4,447 units, compared to 2,190 units last year. This shows a 103.06% growth, with market share increasing by 84.62%.
River Mobility posted one of the highest growth rates, selling 3,720 units versus 1,078 units. This reflects a 245.08% growth, with a 233.33% rise in market share.
BGauss sold 3,297 units, up from 1,082 units. This resulted in a 204.71% growth, with market share increasing by 200%.
Piaggio recorded 3,056 units, compared to 2,564 units last year. The company saw a 19.19% growth, with market share improving by 13.33%.
The “Others Including EV” category sold 11,900 units, up from 10,065 units. This reflects an 18.23% growth, along with a 10.17% increase in market share.
May 2026 saw balanced growth across the two-wheeler segment. While traditional players like Hero and Bajaj faced slight pressure on market share, brands like TVS and Yamaha gained momentum. The electric segment continued to expand rapidly, with companies like Ather, Greaves, and newer players showing exceptional growth.
