Ducati to Launch Motocross Bikes in India by 2026

Italian motorcycle maker Ducati is all geared up to enter the Indian motocross market. The company is looking to launch its motocross motorcycles in 2026 as part of its plan to increase its product portfolio in India. Ducati already has a reputation for its performance bikes, and this move will generate enthusiasm among off-road biking fans.

Bipul Chandra’s Statement on Motocross in India

Ducati India Managing Director Bipul Chandra has confirmed the company's intentions to introduce motocross bikes to the nation. He said, "And then in 2026, we will see the company launch the motocross bikes. We have already started taking part in the competition globally, and we have started winning them. So we are very excited about that. That's a new segment we shall be entering." This action indicates Ducati's increasing interest in the off-road segment, which is dominated by companies such as KTM and Kawasaki.

Ducati’s Success in Global Competitions

 
Ducati has already begun competing in international motocross competitions and has achieved success. This experience will enable the company to create high-quality off-road motorcycles for India. The company is likely to launch models that appeal to professional racers as well as adventure seekers.

The brand has a robust presence in India with offerings such as the Scrambler, Multistrada, and Monster. And now, with motocross motorcycles in the works, the brand is also bolstering its portfolio. Chandra further stated, “Ducati's commitment to bringing every model to India, regardless of demand, underscores its strategic importance to the brand globally." This indicates the firm's commitment to the Indian market.

The Indian market has a growing trend of big motorcycles. So, the brand is exploiting this opportunity. Chandra reported that the company experienced 6-7% growth in sales in 2024 over 2023. He further added, "For 2025, the company anticipates further growth due to the launch of several new bikes." This growth indicates India's growing demand for high-performance and adventure bikes.

Ducati has yet to announce certain details regarding its motocross bikes for India. Nevertheless, according to global trends, such motorcycles are bound to have lightweight frames, high-performance engines, and sophisticated suspension systems. The entry of Ducati into motocross is going to open up more options for Indian motorcycle enthusiasts for their off-road tours.
