Ducati has teased the new DesertX V2 for the Indian market, confirming its arrival in the fourth quarter of 2026. The upcoming adventure motorcycle brings a new engine, an updated chassis, and improved technology. Moreover, Ducati aims to improve its off road performance while keeping it suitable for highway touring.

The new Ducati DesertX V2 uses an 890cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. It produces 110 hp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. According to Ducati, the engine delivers 70% of its peak torque from 3,000 rpm, which should help riders manage rough trails.
In addition, the motorcycle gets a six-speed gearbox with shorter lower gears for better control on difficult roads. A taller sixth gear should also support relaxed highway riding. Ducati has set the oil change interval at 15,000 km or two years, while valve clearance checks come up every 45,000 km.
The DesertX V2 gets a dedicated aluminium monocoque chassis, with the engine serving as a structural component. Ducati has also retained a steel trellis subframe at the rear. The new platform is claimed to improve rigidity, reduce weight and make the motorcycle more predictable off-road.
Suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 46 mm KYB upside-down fork offering 230 mm of travel, while the rear gets a fully adjustable KYB monoshock with progressive linkage and 220 mm of wheel travel.
The motorcycle continues with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoke wheel setup, maintaining its focus on serious off-road riding. Braking is handled by Brembo M4.32 radial calipers with twin 305 mm discs at the front.
Ducati has revised the fuel tank, handlebar, seat and footpeg positions. The bike carries an 18-litre fuel tank that sits lower in the chassis to help improve balance. Its seat height measures 880mm, although lower seat and suspension options will also be available.
The updated DesertX comes equipped with an advanced electronics suite powered by a six-axis IMU, delivering essential rider aids like cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie management, engine brake control, and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. To tailor performance across various environments, riders can switch between six distinct modes, including Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally. Additionally, the motorcycle features a high-resolution 5-inch full-colour TFT dash that supports smartphone integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and cruise control.
Ducati has confirmed the India launch for Q4 2026. However, the company has yet to announce the official price.
