BMW To Reveal New Roadster On October 1: Here’s What We Know

BMW Motorrad has teased a new motorcycle for October 1, 2026, in India, and it could be the F 450 R roadster. The upcoming BMW roadster is expected to use the same platform as the F 450 GS.

BMW shared the teaser on its social media, with the launch scheduled for 5:30pm IST. The new motorcycle could sit below the F 450 GS in BMW’s Indian lineup. It may also fill the gap left by the discontinued G 310 R. More details are expected from BMW closer to the October 1 reveal.

BMW F 450 R Could Expand The New Platform

BMW introduced the F 450 GS in India in April this year. It uses a new 420cc twin cylinder engine producing 48hp and 43Nm of torque.

The engine could also power the upcoming roadster. However, BMW has not confirmed its specifications yet. The teaser image shows a USD fork at the front. The BMW bike could use shorter suspension travel than the adventure focused F 450 GS.

The F 450 GS gets a 43mm USD fork with 180mm travel. Its GS Trophy version also offers adjustability at both ends.

What Happens To The G 310 R Replacement?

BMW previously used the G 310 R as its entry level roadster motorcycle in India. The G 310 R and G 310 GS are now discontinued.

The G 310 RR remains available as a track focused motorcycle developed with TVS. The F 450 R could become BMW’s new roadster option.

Its positioning will matter for buyers looking for a premium middleweight motorcycle with everyday road use.

BMW Roadster Price Could Be Important

The F 450 GS currently starts at Rs 4.95 lakh (ex showroom) after a recent price hike. The upcoming roadster is expected to cost less.

With the bike scheduled to be revealed on October 1, the brand will also confirm its name, specifications and pricing.

If it arrives as the F 450 R, its positioning and price will be important against rivals. Buyers will also want to know how closely it shares its platform with the F 450 GS.
