Bajaj Pulsar NS200 vs Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Competition Check!

Bajaj has recently launched the Pulsar NS400Z in India. This bike is currently the most premium and flagship model of the Pulsar lineup. However, the Pulsar NS200’s popularity and features make it a direct competitor of the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z. 

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z price is Rs 1.85 Lakh and comes in four colors: Racing Red, Brooklyn Black, Pewter Grey, and Pearl White. On the contrary, the NS200 price ranges from Rs 1.42 to 1.51 Lakh and offers colors like Ebony Black, Pearl White, Red-White, and Grey-Blue.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 vs Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Engine Performance

 

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z uses a 373cc single-cylinder engine from the Dominar 400. It produces 40PS @ 8800rpm and 35Nm @ 6500rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. Additionally, it has a 12-litre fuel tank and can reach a top speed of 154 kmph. 

On the other hand, the Pulsar NS200 has a smaller, 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 24.5 PS @ 9750rpm and 18.74 Nm @ 8000rpm torque. Also, its engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The NS200 is BS6.2-compliant and offers a mileage of 40.84 kmpl. This Bajaj motorcycle has a top speed of 125 kmph.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and NS200 both come with impressive features, but the NS400Z offers more advanced options. The Pulsar NS400Z is the most feature-rich bike in Bajaj's lineup. It has an all-LED lighting setup, a colour LCD console with a dot matrix inset, and Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts. 

It also shows phone battery and signal levels and has turn-by-turn navigation. The bike includes switchable traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, and four riding modes: Road, Sport, Rain, and Off-road. Additionally, it has five-step adjustable brake and clutch levers and a USB charging port.

Meanwhile, the NS200 also has an LED headlight with LED DRLs, taillights, and indicators. The updated version features a fully digital LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It provides call and SMS alerts, phone battery and signal levels, and turn-by-turn navigation. It also shows distance-to-empty, real-time mileage, and gear position indicators, along with speed, fuel level, odometer, and trip meter data.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 vs Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Hardware 

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has a 43mm inverted fork and a gas-charged monoshock suspension. On the other hand, Ns200 comes with an inverted fork and monoshock suspension. 

Now, for brakes NS400Z is fitted with a 320mm floating front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Meanwhile, NS200 features a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, with standard dual-channel ABS. Also, the Pulsar Ns200 has 17-inch wheels with a 100-section front tyre and a 130-section rear tyre.
