Ather Energy has officially revealed the name of its upcoming electric scooter, and it is called Ather Konarc. The company plans to launch this new model on 29th August 2026 during its annual Ather Community Day event. This announcement has created excitement among buyers, especially those looking for an affordable electric scooter.
In addition, this new scooter marks an important step for Ather as it enters the high-demand commuter segment in India. The Konarc will be the first production model based on the brand’s new EL platform, which focuses on practicality and affordability.

Ather has also shared teaser images of the Konarc, giving a clear idea about its design. The scooter looks simple, clean, and practical, which makes it suitable for daily use. It follows the earlier EL01 concept, however, it looks more production-ready now.

The front section features a handlebar-mounted headlamp and a wide LED DRL strip. In addition, the illuminated Ather logo sits just above the DRL, giving it a modern touch. The front apron looks sharp yet simple, which adds to its overall appeal.
From the side view, the scooter shows a long and flat seat along with a spacious floorboard. This design clearly focuses on comfort, especially for family use. Unlike the sporty look of the Ather 450 series, the Konarc looks more practical and user-friendly.
At the rear, the scooter gets slim LED tail lamps that blend neatly into the body. Moreover, the presence of alloy wheels and front disc brakes suggests that higher variants may offer better features.
Ather has developed the Konarc mainly for regular users. The Ather Energy CEO, Tarun Mehta, earlier explained that the new EL platform focuses on key factors like affordability, comfort, and ease of use.
In addition, the Ather electric scooter aims to provide better charging convenience, lower service costs, and good resale value. Perhaps this approach will help Ather reach more customers who want a simple and reliable electric scooter.
However, unlike earlier Ather scooters that targeted performance lovers, the Konarc focuses more on practicality. This shift shows the company’s plan to grow in the mass market segment.

One noticeable change in the Konarc is the use of metal body panels instead of polymer parts. This change may improve durability and give the scooter a stronger feel. In addition, it also makes the scooter look more traditional, which many buyers prefer.

Ather will officially unveil the Konarc on August 29, 2026. The event may also include other announcements from the company. However, Ather has not yet shared full details about the scooter’s battery, performance, features, or price.
Still, many expect that the Konarc will come with multiple variants and competitive pricing. In addition, it could play a major role in increasing Ather’s sales in India.
Overall, the Ather Konarc looks like a strong step towards making electric scooters more accessible. It combines simple design, practical features, and a focus on everyday needs. If priced well, it may become a popular choice among Indian buyers.
