Yamaha Grand Filano Breaks Cover: Price & Features Explained

Yamaha just debuted Grand Filano in Indonesia, and it would be enticing to see this model introduced in India. Let's look at it.

One may immediately conclude that the Yamaha Grand Filano resembles an improved Fascino that is available in India. But Grand Filano has a far more pleasing appearance and is loaded with high-tech features. 

Price

The standard Neo variant is priced at IDR 27 million (about Rs. 1.46 lakh in India), while the Lux variant is priced at IDR 27.5 million (roughly Rs. 1.48 lakh in India).

For comparison, the cost of Fascino ranges from Rs. 79K to Rs. 90K in India. Grand Filano seems more upscale than Fascino and provides a lot of features for its high price. Its apron has a visually appealing vertical LED feature in the shape of a diamond just below its LED headlight.

Specifications & Features

 LED taillights with a vertical design and LED indicators improve the appearance. There is also a feature for hazard lights. There are seat coverings embroidered in contrasting colours that seem upscale. On the entire scooter, there is not a single piece of chrome. Instead, we have components that have been darkened to enhance the athletic appearance.

The Yamaha Grand Filano has a lot going for it in terms of features. It has a spacious 27L boot and 4.4L fuel tank, which improve practicality. The gasoline filling cap is situated on the front apron. Keyless entry is made possible with Yamaha's smart key, which also features a side stand switch. A bottle storage and a 12V charging connection are added to the front apron.

Blue backlighting is featured in the completely digital instrument cluster. This LCD panel manages the speedometer, odometer, fuel metre, fuel usage, and other important data. There is a second cluster of telltale lights atop this. A secondary TFT display located below the instrument console allows smartphone interaction using the My Yamaha app.

An Eco indicator and a power assist indication are additional features. Additionally, there is a boot lamp for illumination. A front disc is used, and a rear drum. Yamaha offers wider 110/70-12 tyres mounted at both ends on 12" alloy wheels.

The 125cc mild-hybrid engine has a start/stop feature and is identical to the one found in the Fascino marketed in India, producing about 8 bhp and 10.4 Nm of torque. Yamaha India has not officially announced the Grand Filano launch. Having said that, if priced reasonably, it would be a compelling proposition.
