TVS Motor Company has overtaken Ola Electric in cumulative electric two wheeler sales in India. According to Vahan data, TVS has registered 11,27,873 units, compared with 11,17,031 units for Ola Electric. This gives TVS a lead of 10,842 units. However, the bigger change comes from the sharp difference in their recent sales performance.
At the end of July 2026, Ola still led TVS by 15,996 units. However, TVS registered 35,304 electric two-wheelers in the first 24 days of August. Ola registered only 8,466 units during the same period.
As a result, TVS quickly closed the gap and moved ahead in cumulative registrations.
TVS has also registered 3,42,958 electric two-wheelers in 2026 so far, marking a 75% increase over the same period last year. In addition, TVS Electric Scooters have helped the company cross its full-year 2025 sales of 3,15,081 units.
TVS has held the top spot in monthly electric two-wheeler sales since April 2025. The iQube and Orbiter have played an important role in this growth.
In June 2026, TVS recorded its highest monthly electric two-wheeler sales of 55,783 units. This figure also crossed Ola Electric’s previous monthly record of 53,647 units. At its current sales rate, TVS could cross 5 lakh electric two wheeler sales in 2026.
Ola Electric enjoyed strong sales in 2024, when it sold 4,29,187 electric two-wheelers. It held around 35% of the Indian electric two-wheeler market that year. However, its sales dropped to 2,04,542 units in 2025. Its market share also fell to around 15%.
The decline has continued in 2026. Ola registered 88,910 units between January 1 and August 24, giving it around 7% market share so far this year.
TVS and Ola remain the only two Indian electric two-wheeler makers with more than one million cumulative registrations.
Together, they have registered around 22.45 lakh electric two-wheelers since 2020. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy, Greaves Electric Mobility and Vida continue to compete strongly in the segment. Overall, TVS has made a major shift in the electric two-wheeler market. However, Ola will need stronger sales growth to regain its position at the top.
