
TVS, Bajaj, Ather and Vida have crossed 10 lakh combined electric two wheeler sales in the first eight months of 2026. Together, the four brands sold 10,38,973 units from January to August.
Their combined sales grew by 84% compared with 5,65,635 units during the same period last year. In addition, the brands have already crossed their full year 2025 total of 9,22,824 units.
TVS remains the leading brand with 3,56,579 electric two wheelers sold during the period. Its sales grew 77% YoY, giving it a 26% market share. Moreover, TVS has already crossed its full year 2025 sales of 3,15,082 units. July proved to be its strongest month, with 55,823 units sold.
Bajaj Auto recorded 3,05,226 Chetak sales between January and August. This represents a 69% YoY increase and gives Bajaj a 22% market share. Its strongest month came in March, when sales reached 47,753 units. Therefore, Bajaj has also crossed the three lakh mark in 2026.
Ather sold 2,29,099 electric two wheelers, marking an 83% YoY increase. Its market share also rose to 17% from 15% last year. The Rizta and 450 range continue to drive sales. In addition, the new Ather Konarc could help the brand to increase volumes further in the coming months.
Vida recorded 1,48,069 units, with sales rising 151% YoY. This gives the brand an 11% market share, compared with 7% last year.
The VX2 Go and VX2 Plus have helped drive this growth. Meanwhile, July became Vida’s best month with 22,989 units.
The wider electric two wheeler market recorded 13.6 lakh units during the first eight months of 2026. Perhaps, the market could reach the 20 lakh annual sales mark for the first time. With four months remaining, strong sales from leading brands could push the segment towards this milestone.
