Top 5 India’s Highest-Selling Big Bikes in December 2022

In India, the commuter and other high-end small-capacity categories predominately dominate the two-wheeler market. However, despite making up a small portion of sales, the big bike market is expected to expand over time. Two manufacturers in particular separated out from the crowd in terms of last month - Kawasaki & Triumph.

33 units of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R were sold in the month, which is regarded as the most affordable litre-class motorcycle money can buy in India. Kawasaki achieved new highs last month. Thanks to its lovely inline-four heart and contemporary technological aids in its most recent edition, the well-known Z900 took second place.

The Versys 650 from 2022 also made the top five. A redesigned and sharper engine cowl, a 4.3-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging, and a two-stage traction control system are also included. In addition, the revamped front fairing was inspired by the larger Versys 1000.

Even though the Versys 650 costs Rs 1.41 lakh less than the Tiger Sport 660, which is Triumph’s most inexpensive sports tourer, the Tiger Sport 660 nonetheless managed to outsell it.

The most economical model from the British manufacturer also did reasonably well. However, given that Triumph increased the price of the bike in February 2022, it’s impressive that the Trident 660 managed to land in the last spot on the list today. Depending on the colourway, the bike now costs between Rs 7.45 lakh and Rs 7.58 lakh (ex-showroom India).
