Royal Enfield is preparing for a major expansion in FY2027 with plans for 18 motorcycle launches across multiple segments. The company will introduce 5 new bikes while 13 existing models will receive major updates. Royal Enfield is also focusing on bigger engine motorcycles to strengthen its premium lineup. The brand recently crossed 12 lakh annual sales and aims to further expand its presence in India and gFlobal markets.

Strategic Growth Through New High-Performance Motorcycles

The manufacturer plans to enter the high-performance segment with new 750cc engine motorcycles. These upcoming models include the Himalayan 750 and the Continental GT750 for premium buyers. Moreover, the brand will launch the Himalayan 440, Scram 450, and the Bullet 650 soon. This move allows the company to offer better upgrade options for its loyal fan base. Consequently, the brand will have more power to compete in both local and international markets.

Upgrades for the Middleweight Segment

Thirteen existing bikes in the 350cc to 450cc range will also receive significant updates. This decision helps the company stay ahead of rivals like Triumph, Honda, and Harley-Davidson. These competitors are aggressively releasing new products to capture more market share in India. Therefore, updating the current portfolio is necessary to maintain the brand’s high sales volume. The company recently achieved record sales of over 12 lakh units in the last fiscal year.

Future Capacity and Employment Goals

The new plant will increase the total annual production capacity by 9 lakh units. However, the construction will happen in two stages ending in 2029 and 2032. This expansion will eventually create 5,000 new jobs for people in the local region. Currently, the company can produce about 15 lakh motorcycles every year across its plants. The brand targets a production goal of 13.20 lakh units for the next fiscal year.

The company is focusing on higher capacity engines to honor its historical roots. For instance, the original Interceptor used a 750cc engine many decades ago. The brand even produced massive V-twin engines during the First World War period. Hence, moving back into the 750cc space is a natural step for the brand. This strategy ensures the company remains the top choice for mid-size motorcycle buyers globally.
