Bajaj Pulsar N160 S and SS Launched at Rs. 1.33 Lakh with Major Upgrades

Bajaj has launched the new Pulsar N160 S and Pulsar N160 SS in India. The starting price is Rs. 1.33 lakh for the N160 S, while the top-spec N160 SS costs Rs. 1.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). These new versions bring major upgrades in engine, features, and hardware.

The biggest highlight of this update is the new four-valve engine and improved electronics. In addition, Bajaj motorcycle has added more features to make the bike more modern and rider-friendly. Perhaps this update will attract young buyers looking for a sporty and feature-rich motorcycle.

New Engine and Better Performance

The new Pulsar N160 S and SS come with a 164.5cc single-cylinder four-valve engine. This engine produces 18 bhp and 14.4 Nm of torque. As a result, the bike feels quicker and more powerful than before. Bajaj claims it can go from 0 to 60 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.

Earlier, the N160 used a two-valve engine with lower power. However, the new engine uses oil cooling and an electronic throttle. This setup helps in smoother performance and better response. In addition, the five-speed gearbox remains the same, which keeps the riding experience simple and easy.

Advanced Riding Modes and Features

One of the most exciting additions is the electronic throttle system. Bajaj calls it Intelligent Throttle. Because of this, the bike now gets four riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road. These modes adjust the throttle response based on riding conditions.

In addition, Bajaj has introduced a new Crawl Technology feature. This feature helps the bike move smoothly at low speeds without frequent gear changes. It is especially useful in city traffic. Perhaps riders will find this feature very convenient in daily use.

Display and Connectivity Options

The Pulsar N160 S and SS offer different display options. The N160 S comes with an LCD display that supports Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation. However, the N160 SS gets a more advanced 5-inch TFT screen.

This TFT display supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and even Google Maps mirroring. As a result, riders can see full map navigation directly on the screen. Bajaj claims this feature is a first in this segment. In addition, the SS variant also gets traction control, which improves safety on slippery roads.

Brakes, Suspension and Hardware Updates

Bajaj has also improved the hardware of both bikes. The new models get bigger 37mm upside-down front forks, which offer better stability. However, the rear continues with a monoshock suspension.

Braking System

In addition, the braking system has been upgraded. Both Bajaj bikes now use a larger 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc. The N160 S gets single-channel ABS, while the SS comes with dual-channel ABS. Moreover, the rear tyre is now wider, which improves grip and handling.

Design and Colour Options

The overall design remains similar to the earlier Pulsar N160. However, Bajaj has added sharper graphics and coloured alloy wheels to give it a fresh look. The N160 SS also gets slight changes in handlebar position and seat setup for better comfort.

Both bikes are available in three colours – Atlantic Blue, Pearl Metallic White, and Brooklyn Black. These options give buyers a good range to choose from.
