I have been riding the River Indie electric scooter in Bengaluru for around six months now, and the experience has been quite unique. It bought the River Indie in Moonlight Blue colour at a price of around 1.55 Lakh including insurance charges. From daily office runs to weekend rides, the scooter has covered long distances comfortably. In addition, it feels built for real-world usage rather than just showroom appeal.
I use it daily for a 50+ km commute and around 10000 km overall usage in the last 6 months. What stands out most is its comfort, strong build, and practical nature. However, there are a few areas where improvements are still needed.

The first thing I noticed was the comfort. The seat is wide and well-cushioned, which helps during long rides. In addition, the upright riding posture reduces strain on the back.
Even after riding for hours in Bengaluru traffic, I don’t feel very tired. The suspension handles bumps and rough roads quite well. However, the scooter feels slightly heavy at low speeds.
Once moving, the weight of 143 kg actually helps with stability. It feels planted, especially on flyovers and open roads.

In the city, the scooter feels smooth and responsive. The scooter’s acceleration is strong enough for quick overtakes. Moreover, I often ride at higher throttle inputs, and it still feels controlled.
River Indie top speed reaches around 90 kmph, which is more than enough for city use. In addition, the scooter remains stable even at higher speeds. Despite its weight, it feels surprisingly agile while cornering. Therefore, navigating Bengaluru traffic becomes easier after some time.

In my usage, the range of 163 km/charge stays practical for daily needs. However, below 20 percent, the battery level may drop a bit quicker, which is quite common in many EVs.
Sometimes, the range estimation adjusts dynamically after short stops, which reflects real-time riding conditions more accurately.
However, the company has improved this over time through updates. In addition, I have never faced a situation where I felt stranded.
The River Indie electric scooter feels strong and durable in daily use in Bengaluru city. Perhaps this is something you understand only after riding it regularly. In six months, I faced a few minor issues with the indicator. However, the service experience has been smooth and supportive.
The service team responds quickly and listens to feedback. Therefore, overall ownership feels stress-free and reliable.

The River Indie scooty stands out in practicality. It offers a large storage space of 43 litres, which helps carry daily items easily. In addition, the simple display is easy to read and use. Even new riders in my family found it easy to ride. This shows how user-friendly the scooter is.
However, a few areas could improve further. The headlight could be stronger for night rides. The charging time of electric scooter is also reasonable. My scooter used to charge within 4 to 5 hours.
Pros:
Cons:
I have used the Kinetic Green Flex before buying this River electric scooter, but the Indie feels more practical and useful for daily city rides than my previous scooter. It offers better comfort, stronger build quality and more usable storage upto 55 litres. If you want an electric scooter for city commuting for Indian roads, the River Indie makes more sense for everyday needs.
