Electric Two Wheeler Sales July 2026: EVs Cross 2 Lakh Mark, TVS Leads Market

India’s electric two wheeler retail sales crossed the two lakh mark for the first time in July 2026. FADA retail registration data shows that 2,04,362 electric motorcycles and scooters were registered nationwide.

Sales rose 88.32% year on year from 1,08,516 units in July 2025. Registrations also increased 4.82% month on month from 1,94,963 units in June. The growth lifted EVs to a record 11.24% share of India’s two wheeler market.

EVs increased their market share from 10.59% in June 2026 and 7.65% in July 2025. Petrol and ethanol powered two wheelers still held the majority with an 88.67% share.

CNG and LPG two wheelers accounted for just 0.09% of registrations during July.

The brand wise numbers show a clear lead for TVS, followed by Bajaj and Ather.

TVS Leads, Bajaj And Ather Follow

TVS Motor remained the largest electric two wheeler brand with 55,499 registrations. Its sales jumped 135.24% YoY, giving it a 27.16% market share.

Bajaj followed with 45,613 units and a 22.32% share. Ather ranked third with 30,357 registrations and a 14.85% share.

Hero’s Vida brand recorded 22,900 units, while Ola Electric registered 14,106 units. Ola was the only major brand among these five to report an annual decline.

River And Bgauss Post Strong Growth

Growing brands also recorded sharp annual growth during July. River registered 5,954 units, marking 254.40% YoY growth. Bgauss recorded 5,518 units, up 212.99%.

Greaves Ampere retailed 10,125 units, while the Others category contributed 14,290 registrations.

For buyers, the rising EV share means electric scooters and motorcycles are becoming more visible in India’s daily two wheeler market. However, financing, raw material costs and supply chain challenges remain concerns.

With the festive season coming closer, July’s record sales could set the stage for another strong period for electric two wheelers.
