Norton Atlas GT Specifications Revealed Before Launch In India

The Norton Atlas GT is getting ready for its launch in India. Meanwhile, the brand has shared full details about the production model. This upcoming motorcycle focuses more on road riding, and it aims to offer a mix of performance, comfort, and modern features. Earlier, the brand revealed Norton Atlas specifications, and now has unveiled Atlas GT specs for buyers looking forward to buying it.

Engine and Performance of Norton Atlas GT

Norton Atlas GT

Starting with the engine, the Norton Atlas GT uses a 585cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. In addition, it comes with a 270-degree crank, which helps deliver a deeper and more engaging exhaust sound. The engine produces 69 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 57 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

Moreover, the bike gets a six-speed gearbox, along with a bi-directional quickshifter. This feature allows smooth gear changes without using the clutch. As for gearing, Norton has used a 16-tooth front sprocket and a 47-tooth rear sprocket.

However, while the power output is slightly higher than some rivals, the torque figure is a bit lower. Even so, the engine character and sound may attract riders who enjoy a more exciting ride feel.

Strong Frame with Adjustable Suspension

This Norton bike uses a steel trellis frame, where the engine acts as a stressed member. This setup helps improve strength and handling. In addition, the motorcycle gets high-quality suspension from KYB.

At the front, there is a fully adjustable 43mm USD fork with 140mm travel. Meanwhile, the rear gets a monoshock with preload adjustment. This setup focuses more on road comfort rather than off-road use.

Built for Better Road Performance

For braking, the Atlas GT comes with twin 310mm front discs with radially mounted ByBre calipers. At the rear, there is a 270mm disc. This setup should provide strong and reliable stopping power.

In addition, the bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, which come with tubeless tyres. Compared to the standard Norton Atlas model, this GT version has smaller front wheels and shorter suspension travel.

Perhaps this change makes it more suitable for highway rides and city use rather than rough terrains.

Overall, the Norton Atlas GT looks like a well-balanced motorcycle for riders who prefer road-focused adventure tourer bikes. It offers a strong engine, premium suspension, and modern features. However, its true performance and value will become clearer once it officially launches in India.
