Kawasaki has officially introduced its latest supernaked motorcycle, the Z1100, for international markets. The new model comes in two versions, including Standard and SE, and is positioned as the successor to the popular Z1000. While it is yet to be confirmed, at least one of these variants is expected to arrive in India. Let’s know more about this bike in detail.

At first glance, the Z1100 looks very similar to the Z1000, and that’s not a bad thing. Kawasaki has retained its iconic ‘Sugomi’ design language, which gives the bike a sharp, aggressive, and almost animal-like stance.
The front gets the familiar twin-pod LED headlamp, while the body features deep cuts and angular lines that merge seamlessly into a pointed tail section. Overall, the design remains bold and eye-catching, which should appeal to fans of the Z lineup.
The Z1100 takes a big leap in terms of technology. Unlike the relatively bare-bones Z1000, the new model comes loaded with rider aids and electronics. At the centre is a five-inch TFT display, which shows riding data and allows the rider to adjust settings.
The bike now gets five-axis IMU support, offering features like two power modes, three levels of traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and dual-channel ABS. Moreover, the TFT screen is Bluetooth-enabled, which gives access to turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and SMS notifications.
The Kawasaki Z1100 has a 1,099cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 136 bhp and 113 Nm torque, which should deliver strong performance both on highways and city roads. The motorcycle is built on an aluminium frame, which ensures stability and agility.
The suspension setup differs between the two variants: the Standard model gets Showa fully-adjustable forks, while the SE trim uses a premium Ohlins S46 monoshock with remote preload adjustment.
Similarly, the Standard version uses Tokico callipers, while the SE comes with Brembo callipers for improved stopping power. The tyres are Dunlop Sportmax Q5As, the same as on the Z900.
If launched in India, the Kawasaki Z1100 will directly rival the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, which is currently priced at Rs. 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Given Kawasaki’s reputation in the big-bike segment, the Z1100 could become an attractive option for riders.
