Kawasaki has officially launched the MY26 Ninja 650 in India, updating its popular middleweight motorcycle to meet the latest fuel norms. It is now priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes the new model Rs 14,000 more expensive than the 2025 Ninja 650. While the update is not major, it keeps the Ninja 650 relevant in today’s market.

The biggest update for the MY26 Ninja 650 is its engine compliance with E20 fuel standards. In addition, Kawasaki has introduced fresh graphics, although the bike continues to be offered in just one colour option in India: Lime Green. This colour scheme is familiar, but the updated livery adds a slightly refreshed look. Perhaps darker shades seen in international markets could have made the bike more appealing to a wider audience.

The 2026 Ninja 650 continues with the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It produces around 67–68 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 62.1 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features an assist-and-slipper clutch, which helps during quick downshifts and reduces rider fatigue.
The bike gets a 41mm front fork and a rear monoshock. The Ninja 650 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It also comes with twin 300mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.
In addition, the bike continues to offer modern features like a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. Switchable Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) also comes as standard, adding an extra layer of safety.
Overall, the MY26 Ninja 650 brings necessary updates without changing its winning formula. While more upgrades would have been welcome, the bike continues to offer a balanced mix of performance, comfort, and everyday usability.
