Hero MotoCorp has achieved a major milestone with its Vida electric brand. The company has crossed 2 lakh retail sales in India. Sales reached over 202,000 units between October 2022 and March 2026. This shows strong and steady demand for electric scooters.
Interestingly, the first 1 lakh units took almost three years to sell. However, the next 1 lakh units came in just eight months. This fast growth clearly shows rising interest in electric mobility across India. In addition, better pricing and new models helped boost demand.

The biggest boost came from the launch of the Vida VX2 scooter. This model arrived with aggressive pricing in July 2025. The VX2 Go variant comes with a 2.2 kWh battery. Its price drops to around Rs 44,990 with the BaaS plan.
Meanwhile, the VX2 Plus offers more features and a higher price. However, the BaaS option reduces its cost to about Rs 70,000. Perhaps the Battery-as-a-Service model plays a key role here. It lowers the upfront cost and makes EV ownership easier.
Because of this, more buyers now consider electric scooters as a practical option. Other electric brands have also started adopting similar plans.

Another important product is the Vida V2 scooter. It builds on the earlier V1 platform with better performance and features. This model supports the brand’s steady growth in the market. In addition, it offers improved design and daily usability.
Together, the VX2 and V2 models drive most of the current sales. They help the company reach new customers quickly. In calendar year 2025, Vida recorded strong sales of over 1 lakh units. This marked a sharp 150 percent growth.
As a result, the brand gained around 8 percent market share. It also improved its ranking among electric scooter makers. However, the growth did not stop there. In early 2026, the company achieved over 2,000 percent year-on-year growth. This helped Vida secure nearly 11 percent market share in the EV segment. Monthly sales also remain strong and consistent.
Hero MotoCorp is on a network expansion spurt in order to meet the growing demand. The brand has approximately 900 touch points in India. These consist of the experience centers and service outlets across more than 400 cities. This broad access enhances access to customers and service.
Besides that, Vida users have the option of charging at more than 5,000 locations. This encompasses the Ather Energy Grid network, which is popular. On the whole, it is successful with powerful pricing, clever maneuver, and product blend. As the trends keep on developing, Vida may even expand at an even higher rate next year.
