Gogoro Introduces New Battery-swapping Technology in India

The Gogoro introduces its new electrical scooters and battery-swapping technology in India. This project is being brought together with Zypp Electric, which is already in India. Gogoro, the Taiwan-based world leader in battery-swapping technology, finally launched its Battery Swapping Stations in the Indian market. 

Gogoro has also introduced smart scooters under a pilot project in partnership with Zypp Electric, which will effectively increase the last-mile delivery ecosystem. It is a safe and convenient solution for battery-swapping electric vehicles and allows delivery operators to manage their fleet easily.

Planning and Objectives of Gogoro’s Project

To perform a trial over the next six months in the National Capital Region. The firm has assigned 90 Gogoro 2 Series e-scooters on the Zypp Electric platform. The company will examine operational data pertaining to battery consumption, swapping patterns, rider behaviour, and asset utilisation. If it will apply this information to its goods it will produce in the mid of 2023.

Battery swapping makes it easy to charge electric vehicles, and people don't have to wait too long. Horace Luke, Founder and CEO of Gogoro, says - “Indian delivery riders will love Gogoro's battery-swapping solution. On entering India's fast-growing EV market, Luke said that Gogoro is promoting sustainable electric two-wheelers in India. We want to provide businessmen and riders with a platform that will drive a new era of sustainable transportation in the country.”

Role of Battery Swapping Technology 

Recently, the sale of electric vehicles in India crossed the one million mark, with a growth of 58 per cent. Most of these are electric two-wheelers, and their market share is 62%. If people get charged batteries easily anywhere, many of their worries will go away. Battery swapping will  definitely play an important role. In this regard, Gogoro has set up 4 battery-swapping stations in Gurugram and two in Delhi.
