FADA 2-Wheeler YoY Sales Report March 2023

As per March 2023 sales data recently released by FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations), the Indian 2-wheeler industry showed a massive growth of 12.42% YoY compared to March 2022. 
 

For March 2023, 14,45,867 units of total 2-wheelers were sold in the Indian market. This indicates an increase in the total 2-wheeler sales in India by 1,59,758 units, translating to a 12.42% year-on-year increase in total 2-wheeler retail. As a result, the figures for the total 2-wheeler sold in the Indian market for March 2022 stood at 12,86,109 units.

This year too, we see Hero MotoCorp leading the entire 2-wheeler market in India with more than 4,66,963 units sold. This year, the company saw an increase of 12.56% YoY, with the March 2022 sales figure at 4,14,869 units.

Second on the list is the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., which saw a growth of 14.88%, with 3,23,901 units sold this year and 2,81,936 units last year in the same month. Finally, TVS Motor Company bagged 3rd place, with an increase of 20.61%, with 2,37,920 units sold this year and 1,97,259 units sold last year in the same month.

Ola Electric remained the number one player in the electric two-wheeler market as of last month, with a growth percentage of 132.63% this year. The company sold 21,274 units in March 2023 as compared to 9,145 units in March 2022.

Ola Electric is followed by Ather Energy Pvt Ltd., which saw a growth of a whopping 440.80%, with 12,076 units sold in March 2023 as compared to 2,233 units sold in March 2022. Ampere Vehicles Private Limited took the next place, reporting a growth of 47.20%, with 9,334 units sold in March 2023 as opposed to 6,341 units in March 2022.

Hero Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, yet again, took a big dip this month of 48.94%, with 6,652 units sold in March 2023 as compared to 13,029 units sold in March 2022.
