Comparison Of Honda SP160 And Honda Unicorn

In India, Honda just revealed a new 160cc commuter motorcycle. The SP160 appears to be a younger variant of the Unicorn. Furthermore, both bikes have identical engine specs and output figures. Here, we will compare different features, price, design of the Honda SP 160 and Honda Unicorn.

Design

The SP160 is given an entirely different appearance than the Unicorn. Though, it is not luxurious, it is more relevant to the current generation and incorporates style from the SP125. Meanwhile, the Unicorn maintains a decade-old design with few alterations. Honda follows the same formula by offering popular design, performance, and features.

Features

Comparing the features, the SP 160 has an LED headlight and bulb illumination for turn indicators. However, Unicorn retains the conventional bulb setup for its lighting, providing lesser brightening. The SP also has a fully digital instrument console, whereas the Unicorn has an analogue configuration.

The SP160 features a larger 276mm petal front disc than the Unicorn, which has a 240mm normal disc. It also has larger 18-inch tyres than the Unicorn, which has 17-inch ones. Additionally, it also has a bigger, 130-section rear tyre, whereas the Unicorn has a 100-section tyre. The Unicorn's gasoline tank is 13 litres, one litre larger than the SP160's 12-litre capacity.

Pricing

In terms of pricing, the Honda SP 160 comes at a retail price of Rs. 1,17,500 and Rs. 1,21,900 for the drum and disc brake modes. However, the unicorn costs around Rs. 1,09,800 (Ex-Showroom) in Delhi.
