BMW M 1000 XR Launched In India: Priced At Rs. 45 Lakhs!

BMW Motorrad has launched the M 1000 XR in India for Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model is only available in the M Competition variant, which includes many carbon fibre parts like wheels and side panels. Moreover, the BMW M 1000 XR combines features from the S 1000 XR and S 1000 RR with improved performance, better ergonomics, and more features for 2024.

It is the third M model after the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R. Sold as a completely built unit, it is claimed to be the most powerful crossover motorcycle. It features a stronger engine, advanced electronics, lightweight parts, and a distinctive M livery.

Furthermore, the President of BMW Group India, Mr Vikram Pawah, said, “The all-new BMW M 1000 XR is an M bike through and through. It embodies everything that the most powerful letter in the world stands for: leadership, supremacy and playful, effortless dominance. This bike successfully completes the equation for an incomparable riding experience of M-like performance and XR-like long-distance capability. The all-new M XR maximizes everything - your riding experience, your endurance and, whenever you want, your adrenaline.”

Also, BMW has opened bookings for the M 1000 XR at all Motorrad dealerships in the country starting today.

BMW M 1000 XR: Design

The newly launched BMW M 1000 XR bike features a bold and dynamic design. It has a new symmetrical styling with split LED headlights and integrated DRLs. Moreover, the addition of M winglets enhances stability at high speeds. The bike's eye-catching Light White and Blackstorm Metallic paint jobs ensure it grabs attention wherever it goes.

Although the new BMW M 1000 XR is similar to the S 1000 XR, it has a more aggressive and sporty look. The bike also features bar-end mirrors. The M Competition package includes many carbon fibre parts, such as wheels, a rear wheel cover with a chain guard, side panels, a front wheel cover, an inner cover, and an ignition cover.

It also comes with an MGPS Lap Trigger unlock code and adjustable foot pegs for both the rider and the passenger. While the M 1000 XR weighs 223kg (DIN empty), the M Competition package reduces its weight by 3kg.

BMW M 1000 XR: Specifications

BMW M 1000 XR is fitted with a 999cc, inline four-cylinder engine that produces 201PS and 113Nm of torque. This engine allows the bike to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 278 kmph. It has a six-speed gearbox, with adjusted gear ratios and a larger 47-teeth sprocket for quicker acceleration. The bike offers a smooth ride due to a double-sided swing arm at the rear, an upside-down front fork, and Dynamic Damping Control (DDC).

BMW M 1000 XR: Features

BMW’s launched bike M 1000 XR has Dynamic Traction Control, wheelie control, launch control, a pit lane speed limiter, and Brake Slide Assist, which lets the rider drift into corners. These settings can be accessed through the 6.5-inch TFT display. Also, there's an OBD interface for the M GPS datalogger and lap timer.

Additionally, the riders can choose from various modes like Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro1-3. This allows customisation of throttle response, braking, traction, and wheelie control. Advanced features include Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) to match different riding styles and skill levels.
