Bajaj Auto has crossed an important milestone in India's electric two-wheeler market. According to Vahan data, the company sold 3.02 lakh electric two wheelers between January and August 2026. This marks a 68% year on year growth compared with the same period last year.

With this achievement, Bajaj has become the second Indian electric two wheeler maker to cross 3 lakh sales in 2026. TVS reached the same milestone earlier, while Ather currently remains in third place. Therefore, the latest numbers show strong growth of the Bajaj electric scooters.

Bajaj EV Sales Grow Strongly In 2026

Bajaj recorded its highest monthly sales so far in March 2026, when sales crossed 40,000 units for the first time. However, the company continued its strong performance in June with 43,529 unit sales and 45,860 unit sales in July.

In addition, August sales reached 37,976 units between August 1 and 30, compared with 12,246 units during the same period last year. This represents a massive 210% year on year growth.

TVS Leads Bajaj In Electric Two Wheeler Sales

TVS continues to lead the electric two wheeler market with around 3.53 lakh units sold until August 2026. It holds a lead of about 51,063 units over Bajaj.

Meanwhile, Ather has sold around 2.27 lakh units and holds the third position. The company recently launched the Konarc, which could help increase its sales in the coming months.

Bajaj currently sells a five model Chetak range, with the C2501 serving as the entry level model and the C3501 sitting at the top of the range. Perhaps, this wide range has helped Bajaj attract buyers across different price points.

Festive Season Could Boost Bajaj EV Sales

The upcoming festive season could further support Bajaj's electric two-wheeler sales. The company could add another 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh units in the next four months.

As a result, Bajaj could end 2026 with around 4.25 lakh to 4.50 lakh electric two wheeler sales. However, competition will remain strong as TVS targets 5 lakh sales, while Ather aims to increase its numbers with the new Konarc.
