Bajaj Auto has announced plans to refresh its 125cc to 160cc motorcycle lineup in India. The company shared this update after reporting its best-ever quarterly financial performance. Although Bajaj has not confirmed which motorcycles will receive the upgrades, the move highlights its focus on one of India's biggest motorcycle segments. In addition, the updated models are expected to strengthen the brand's position in the domestic market.
Bajaj currently offers several motorcycles in the 125cc to 160cc category under the Pulsar and Freedom brands. However, the company has not revealed the launch timeline or the list of motorcycles that will receive the updates.
During its Q1 FY2027 earnings announcement, Bajaj said that recent product improvements in the Pulsar range helped it gain market share in the sports motorcycle segment. The company also stated that this segment recorded nearly 50% growth during the quarter, showing strong customer demand.
Perhaps one of the biggest highlights is the expected arrival of the next generation Bajaj Pulsar. The upcoming motorcycle has already been spotted testing several times, suggesting that its launch could take place in the coming months.
The company has also shared its strategy of focusing more on the 125cc plus motorcycle segment, where demand continues to grow across India. Therefore, Bajaj Bikes in this category are expected to receive fresh styling, improved features, and other updates to attract more buyers.
Along with the product update announcement, Bajaj Auto also reported impressive financial results for Q1 FY2027. The company posted revenue of Rs. 17,244 crore, registering a 37% year-on-year growth. In addition, its profit after tax increased by 42% to Rs. 2,983 crore.
Bajaj also sold 1.44 million units during the quarter, recording a 29% growth compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, domestic two wheeler sales grew by 11%, while exports jumped by an impressive 52%.
Perhaps the upcoming motorcycle updates will help Bajaj continue this strong momentum and further strengthen its presence in India's highly competitive 125cc to 160cc motorcycle segment.
