Ather Energy to Raise Scooter Prices from January 2026

Published at December 23, 2025 | By BikeJunction

Ather Energy has confirmed that it will increase the prices of its electric scooters starting January 1, 2026. The hike will be capped at up to Rs. 3,000, depending on the model. According to the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker, this decision comes at a time when input costs are steadily rising across the industry.

In simple terms, Ather says it is facing higher expenses due to costly raw materials, pressure from foreign exchange movements, and a global rise in prices of key electronic parts. These factors, in addition, affect the final price customers see, even if there are no changes made to the scooter itself.

December Offers Aim to Offset the Increase

However, Ather is also using December as an opportunity for customers who are planning to buy soon. The company is promoting its ongoing ‘Electric December’ campaign, which offers benefits of up to Rs. 20,000 in select cities across India. These offers are valid only till December 31, 2025.

What Buyers Get Under ‘Electric December’

Buyers can receive a mix of instant credit card EMI discounts, direct cash benefits, and a complimentary extended battery warranty. Known as the ‘Eight70’ plan, this warranty covers the battery for up to eight years on select models. Perhaps more importantly, Ather has partnered with multiple finance providers, making monthly payments easier for customers who prefer EMIs.

This focus on financing shows that affordability today is not just about the sticker price, but also about how manageable the monthly cost feels. Therefore, buyers who qualify for these offers could save a noticeable amount before the price revision begins.

Popular Models and Market Performance

Ather’s range of two-wheelers includes Rizta, designed and developed for the needs of families, and the sporty range, comprising 450 series models like the 450X, the 450S, and the range-topping 450 Apex. Among them, Rizta is the highest-selling model in Ather’s range and has achieved the milestone of 2 lacs sales and now contributes over 70 percent of Ather's total sales.

Overall, though the future price increase may not significantly impact the purchasing decisions, there are concerns about value for money. At the same time, provided Ather is consistent in its warranty, service, and transparent pricing, the loyalty and trust of its customers will not be dented despite the increased prices.
