2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V Arrives in India

The new Xtreme 160R 2V has updated features borrowed from the recently refreshed Hero Xtreme 160R 4V.

• Remains unchanged in engine and chassis.

Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated 2024 Xtreme 160R in India. It is now priced at Rs 1,11,111, which is Rs 10,525 cheaper than the previous model's priced at Rs 1,21,636 ex-showroom price in Delhi. Moreover, the updated motorcycle has improved features. The bike is now available only in Stealth Black, with improved enhancements, more comfortable seats, and a disc brake variant. 
 

Enhanced Features and Modern Upgrades

 
The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V has been upgraded with features inspired by the latest Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. The updated 2V now includes a new Drag Race Timer, featuring a D1 mode for 0 to 60 km/h acceleration timing and a D2 mode for quarter-mile (0 to 402 meters) acceleration timing. 
 

The updated Xtreme 160R 2V now has a sleek and sharp LED tail light similar to the 4V model. This tail light features the distinctive “H” design that was the hallmark of the new Hero range and has become iconic and brand identity. We also got a look at the H-shaped daytime running lights (DRL) of the newly launched 2024 Hero Destiny 125. 
 

The bike now comes with a smoother and comfortable pillion seat. Designed to increase pillion comfort. Complete with sturdy grab rails for added safety, the Xtreme 160R 2V also comes with a 276mm petal disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. Both are paired with standard single-channel ABS.  
 

Consistent Performance and Competitive Features

 
The Hero Xtreme retains the existing engine and chassis components of the 160R 2V and the same full LCD instrument console as the previous model. It is powered by a 163 cc, 2-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 15.2 horsepower and 14 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. 
 

The Hero Xtreme 160R has 37-mm telescopic forks and a 7-step adjustable monoshock. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 100-section front and 130-section rear radial tyres. Furthermore, the bike has a 790mm seat height, 167mm ground clearance, and a 12-litre fuel tank capacity. 
 

Hero Extreme 160R competes with premium 150-160cc motorcycles such as Bajaj Pulsar N150, TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda SP160 and Yamaha FZS-FI V3. 
 

Affordable but Limited in Options:

The new Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is Rs 10,000 cheaper than the previous single-disc model, making it more affordable for customers. However, it is available in more than one type and one colour option, leaving no room for customisation. Further, if you want more colour options or dual disc brakes? You'll have to opt for the expensive Xtreme 160R 4V.
