2023 Yamaha Tricity 125 cc & 155 cc Breaks Covers

We rarely see a trike in India; however, in Southeast Asian Nations and Europe, scooters in this segment are fairly common. To tap further into that segment, Yamaha has launched Tricity 125 and Tricity 155 scooters in Japan.

Both Trikes share a fairly similar design that is popularly found in some other Yamaha models too. Tricity 125 was launched at JPY 4,95,000 (approx. Rs. 3.1 lakhs), and Tricity 155 was launched at JPY 5,56,000 (approx. Rs. 3.54 lakhs).

They wouldn't be viable solutions for the price-sensitive Indian market because of the premium pricing strategy. Hence, they are not likely to come to our shores any time soon, according to Yamaha. However, in markets where trikes are common, these offer profitable choices for individuals to take into account.

With the 2023 Yamaha Tricity line, one can get a lot for their money. To begin with, both scooters are sizable and have a significant road presence. With its Tricity scooter line, Yamaha has selected an intriguing design language.

The 2023 Yamaha Tricity's flowing shape seems to do a good job of concealing the weight. Sporty overall aesthetics can be attributed to deliberate design decisions. The front of the vehicle has a sizable LED headlight unit, which is flanked by turn indicators. A somewhat tall windscreen covers the instrument panel. The aggressive front fascia as a whole wouldn't appear out of place on a superbike that chases peak speed.

Less superbike-like powertrains are employed. Three scooters from the Tricity range are part of Yamaha's global product lineup. three models: 125cc, 155cc, and 300cc. Tricity 125's liquid-cooled engine produces 12.06 bhp and 11.02 Nm. Even though the Tricity 155's 155cc 4V engine is the same as the R15 V4's, it has been detuned to produce only 14.88 bhp and 14 Nm.

The Yamaha Tricity line features two 14" alloy front wheels and a 13" alloy rear wheel. The ability to tilt the front wheels helps them turn. All wheels have disc brakes, while telescoping front forks and dual shock absorbers, respectively, handle the front and rear suspensions. A smart key with the keyless operation, smartphone connectivity, and many more features are included.

Since the Tricity range's 2014 global launch, Yamaha has not had much success. Despite the spectacular re-introduction in 2019, the ASEAN and JDM markets haven't seen much growth for the Yamaha Tricity series. But things are a little different in Europe. The original group is Tricity 125. In 2019, Tricity 300 was released.
