India’s electric two-wheeler space continues to grow as Simple Energy introduces the new Simple One Gen 2 electric scooter. The Bengaluru-based manufacturer has launched the model at an introductory starting price of Rs 1,39,999 ex-showroom. The Simple One range is aimed at urban riders who want long riding range, quick acceleration, and modern features for daily city commuting.
Moreover, the Gen 2 brings noticeable battery upgrades, improved performance, and added features over the earlier version. Simple Energy offers the scooter in two models, the Simple One S and the Simple One Gen 2. However, the Gen 2 is further available with two battery options, creating three total variants. Hence, buyers can choose based on range needs and budget.

The Simple One Gen 2 carries forward the overall design language of the earlier model. However, the scooter now features sharper body panels and updated angular elements. Moreover, changes on the apron and handlebar cowl give it a fresher look. Hence, the scooter maintains a youth-focused appearance without major visual changes.
Simple has also added air ducts near the console area to manage heat more effectively. In addition, the rear section now appears cleaner and more compact. The Gen 2 is offered in nine colour options, including five single tone and four dual tone shades. Therefore, buyers get more choices to match personal style preferences.
| Variant | Battery Capacity | Peak Power | 0-40 kmph | Top Speed | IDC Range | 0-80% Charging |
| Simple One S | 3.7kWh | 6.4kW | 3 seconds | 90kmph | 190km | 4 hours |
| Simple One Gen 2 | 4.5kWh | 6.4kW | 3.3 seconds | 90kmph | 236km | 4hr 45min |
| Simple One Gen 2 | 5kWh | 8.8kW | 2.55 seconds | 115kmph | 265km | 5hr 20min |
Moreover, the stronger motor on the 5kWh variant improves highway usability. Hence, the scooter feels closer to petrol alternatives in daily riding scenarios.

The Simple One Gen 2 is built on a newly developed steel tube frame. This updated structure helps reduce overall weight while maintaining balance. In addition, the scooter uses a telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock. Therefore, ride comfort remains suitable for uneven city roads.
Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at both ends with CBS support. The front uses a 200mm disc, while the rear gets a 190mm unit. Moreover, the 5kWh variant weighs 129kg, which is 8kg lighter than before. Hence, handling should feel more manageable during daily use.
The Simple One Gen 2 comes with a long list of connected and safety focused features. It gets a 7-inch TFT touchscreen console with smartphone connectivity and navigation support. Moreover, features like ride data, document storage, and OTA updates are also included. Hence, the scooter feels well equipped for modern users.
Simple has added multiple traction control modes and regenerative braking levels. In addition, new Eco X and Sonic X riding modes enhance range and performance flexibility. The scooter also includes cruise control with Standard and Metro options. Therefore, both highway and city riding become easier.
Other features include fall detection, hill hold assist, park mode, hazard activation during hard braking, and crawl mode. Moreover, storage space stands at 35 litres under the seat, along with a front glove box and USB charging. Hence, practicality remains a strong point for everyday use.
