Simple Energy has crossed 10,000 electric scooter sales in the first eight months of 2026. According to Vahan data, the Bengaluru based EV maker sold 10,429 units between January and August.

This marks 203% growth, up from 3,436 units during the same period last year. The company has mainly gained attention with its performance focused Simple One Electric scooter.

In addition, Simple Energy recently entered the family scooter market with the new Wave. It costs Rs 1.10 lakh, ex showroom, Bengaluru, making it the brand’s most affordable scooter.

Wave Could Drive Simple Energy Sales

Simple Energy Wave

The Wave aims to attract customers who want comfort, easy riding and useful features for daily travel. It competes with popular models such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida and Ather Rizta.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the Wave is its range of battery choices. The base Wave S comes with 2.2kWh and 2.7kWh battery options. They offer IDC ranges of 110km and 132km, respectively.

The standard Wave gets a 3.7kWh battery with a claimed 171km IDC range. Meanwhile, the top Wave+ uses a 5kWh battery and offers a claimed 243km IDC range. Simple Energy plans to start Wave deliveries from September 25. Therefore, the new scooter could play an important role in the company’s future sales.

Simple Energy Expands Its Reach

Simple Energy currently has a production capacity of 3,000 units per month. The company also has more than 75 outlets across 63 cities in India. However, the company still has a long way to go against larger electric two wheeler brands. Its highest monthly sales so far came in March 2026, when it sold 1,780 units.

Simple Energy entered India’s top 10 electric two wheeler sellers for the first time in February 2026. Since then, it has remained in ninth place. The company sold 13th highest electric two wheeler volumes in 2025. It has now sold 18,556 units cumulatively since 2023.

With the Wave entering the family scooter segment, Simple Energy now has a chance to reach more customers. However, its upcoming sales will show whether the new scooter can help the brand move higher in the market.
