Simple Energy appears ready to expand its lineup with a new electric scooter. A camouflaged test model was recently spotted during road testing in India. In addition, trademark filings suggest the scooter will be called the Arrive.
Unlike the sporty Simple One, this new model seems more practical and family-focused. Therefore, it could target daily commuters who want comfort and usability. However, the company has not confirmed launch timelines yet.
The Simple Arrive shows a clear change in design approach. It features smoother and more rounded body panels compared to the sharp styling of the One. In addition, the seat looks longer and flatter, which should improve comfort.
The floorboard also appears more spacious, which makes it easier to carry bags. Moreover, the scooter includes a front storage cubby, which adds everyday convenience. Perhaps this design will appeal more to family buyers.
The headlamp sits on the front apron with a small visor above it. Meanwhile, the tail lamp looks slim and modern, similar to other family scooters.
The Arrive uses a more traditional suspension setup with twin rear shock absorbers. This is different from the monoshock seen on the Simple One. In addition, it gets a rear drum brake instead of a disc.
However, the scooter still carries a front disc brake for better stopping power. It also runs on 12-inch alloy wheels, which are likely shared with the One.
This combination suggests a focus on durability and cost efficiency rather than performance. Therefore, it may suit daily city usage better.
Although details remain unclear, the Arrive could use the same TFT display as the Simple One. This means riders may get navigation and connectivity features.
In addition, the battery options could also be shared. The Simple One currently offers 3.7kWh and 5kWh packs. However, the Arrive might use a smaller or tuned version for better range.
Since the scooter looks less performance-focused, it may offer a lower top speed. However, it could deliver a longer real-world range.
The Simple Arrive is likely to become the most affordable scooter in the brand’s lineup. The current One S starts at around Rs. 1.50 lakh. Therefore, the Arrive could be priced slightly lower to attract more buyers. It may compete with practical scooters like family-oriented electric models in India.
