Ola S1 Pro+ Gen 3 Launched in India: Price Starts From Rs. 1.55 Lakh

Ola Electric has introduced its new Gen 3 S1 Pro+ scooter in India. The scooter will come in two versions, which include a 4kWh priced at Rs.1.55 lakh and a 5.3kWh version available for Rs. 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). This release is a move by Ola to target budget and premium consumers alike. Let's learn more about this electric scooter in depth.
 

Impressive Performance and Range

The S1 Pro+ features a powerful electric motor with a peak output of 13kW (17.5bhp). The 5.3kWh variant reaches a top speed of 141 kmph, while the 4kWh version achieves 128 kmph. Moreover, the acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph takes just 2.1 seconds for the 5.3kWh model and 2.3 seconds for the 4kWh. 
 

Ola claims an IDC range of 320 km for the 5.3kWh variant and 242 km for the 4kWh model. However, the real-world ranges are expected to be around 200-220 km and 170-180 km, respectively.
 

Advanced Features and Design

The Gen 3 version of Ola S1 Pro+ is available in six colors. It includes Porcelain White, Midnight Blue, Passion Red, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Jet Black. The S1 Pro+ features brake-by-wire technology, combining mechanical and electronic braking for improved efficiency and range. Furthermore, the scooter comes with dual-channel ABS as standard. 
 

Riders can choose from four modes: Hyper, Sport, Normal, and Eco. The scooter also offers a standard warranty of three years or 40,000 km, extendable to eight years or 1,25,000 km for an additional Rs. 14,999.
 

Ola's Broader Strategy

Ola Electric is accelerating its Gen 3 platform launches, with deliveries expected to begin in January 2025. The company plans to introduce five additional scooters, expanding its range beyond the existing S1 series with two new sub-brands, S2 and S3. 
 

The S2 brand will offer models like the City, Tourer, and a sports variant, while the S3 sub-brand will target the premium segment with two maxi-scooters, the Grand Adventure and Grand Tourer. These models will feature integrated batteries, magnetless motors, and advanced electronics within the chassis. It aims to improve performance and reduce costs.
