Niranjan Gupta to take over as Hero MotoCorp CEO from May 1

Starting May 1, 2023, Niranjan Gupta will take over as the new CEO of Hero MotoCorp, the leading two-wheeler manufacturer. Gupta currently serves as Hero's CFO, Head- Strategy and M&A. 

The Company also stated in a regulatory filing that Dr Pawan Munjal will remain Executive Chairman and Whole-time Director on the Board.

Niranjan Gupta has over two decades of experience in leading various industries' finance, M&A, supply chain and strategy functions. In addition, his experience includes expertise in the fields such as consumer goods, metals and mining, and automobiles. With all these experiences, Niranjan Gupta has a proven track record of excellence. 

He has been instrumental in improving the financial performance of Hero in the last six years. He maintained his pace despite the challenging market conditions. He has also been a key driver of Hero's global expansion strategy. Further, he played an important role in forging partnerships with iconic brands like Harley Davidson and Zero Motorcycles.

Dr Pawan Munjal congratulated Niranjan on his appointment as CEO. He praised his leadership skills and business achievements in various markets. He said that with his strategic and operational expertise, Niranjan has helped Hero MotoCorp grow and generate strong cash flow. 

He added that Niranjan's promotion reflected the Company's effective succession planning process. Further, he expressed his confidence in Niranjan's ability to lead the Company to new heights of success and value creation for all stakeholders. Lastly, Dr Pawan wished him all the best in his future endeavours.

Niranjan Gupta expressed his gratitude and excitement for becoming the CEO of Hero MotoCorp, the world's leading motorcycle and scooter company. He said he looks forward to expanding the brand's global presence, premium offerings, and electric mobility solutions. 

He said he would follow the Company's Vision, Mission and Values to achieve more growth, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value. He said he is honoured to lead a team of dedicated business leaders who share his vision of "Be the Future of Mobility". He thanked the Chairman and the Board of Hero MotoCorp for trusting him with this role.

Besides his new role, Niranjan Gupta will remain a board director of Ather Energy, HMC MM Auto and HMCL Colombia. He joined Hero MotoCorp after working at Vedanta Limited for three years and at Unilever for 20 years. Hero MotoCorp said it would name a new CFO soon.
