Suzuki is reportedly working on an all-new generation of Gixxer motorcycles for the Indian market. The upcoming update will cover the Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250 range, including naked and faired versions. The existing models have seen minimal changes since 2019, affecting interest among buyers. Meanwhile, rivals have introduced fresher designs and added more features, improving their market presence. Therefore, Suzuki’s planned update is expected to revive demand and strengthen its sporty motorcycle portfolio.

Suzuki appears ready to refresh the Gixxer series as competition in the segment continues to grow. The update is expected to include both the 150cc and 250cc versions sold in India. A new base structure may help improve ride quality, balance, and feature placement. However, Suzuki is unlikely to move away from the Gixxer’s known sporty riding nature. Hence, the focus will remain on meaningful updates rather than a complete repositioning.
The new Gixxer SF models are expected to feature sharper styling inspired by the Suzuki GSX-8R. At the same time, the naked Gixxer versions may borrow design cues from the GSX-8S. Both engine options are likely to share similar body panels and proportions. However, Suzuki may differentiate them through paint schemes and alloy wheel designs. This design strategy could help maintain a uniform look across the updated range.
The current Gixxer models are often criticised for their stiff suspension setup. Therefore, Suzuki is expected to revise suspension tuning for better ride comfort. A USD front fork may be introduced to improve handling and road feedback. Moreover, braking performance could improve with stronger components like switchable dual channel ABS and better response. In addition, brighter headlights are expected to enhance night time riding visibility.
Suzuki is expected to carry forward the existing engines for both capacity options. However, these engines may receive new technology to improve the riding experience. Features like ride by wire throttle and riding modes are likely additions. Some variants may also get a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts. Higher trims could feature a TFT display, making the bikes feel more up to date.
The expected price of the new Gixxer series could be slightly higher than the present model prices. Moreover, the prices could rise, ranging from Rs 7,000 to 10,000, depending on the model. Nonetheless, the Gixxer SF 150 will most likely continue to serve as India's cheapest faired offering in the two wheeler market. The next generation model of Suzuki Gixxer bikes is expected to arrive in the market in late 2026 or early 2027.
