Here Are Your Weekly Updates: Matter Aera, 2023 Bajaj Chetak & more!

There were many new two-wheeler releases throughout the past week. Two new electric two-wheelers were introduced, and a few ICE scooters received updates. In addition, TVS presented four eye-catching unique projects based in Ronin. Here is a brief summary of these developments in case you aren't already aware of them.

2023 Bajaj Chetak Premium launched!
 

The price of Bajaj's 2023 Chetak Premium electric scooter in India was Rs. 1,51,910. Three new paint colours—Matte Coarse Grey, Matte Caribbean Blue, and Satin Black—and an expanded and more elaborate instrument console are included in the revisions for 2023. The Chetak also gets a satin grab rail, body-coloured rear view mirrors, and a two-toned seat. Even the blinkers and headlight housing are covered in Charcoal Black.

Matter Aera electric motorcycle launched 
 

The Aera electric motorcycle was released in India by Ahmedabad-based EV manufacturer Matter. It costs Rs 1.43 lakh and comes in the Aera 4000, Aera 5000, Aera 5000+, and Aera 6000+ trims. A 10kW motor connected to a 5kWh liquid-cooled battery, with a maximum stated range of 125km, powers the Aera 5000 range. According to Matter, a battery can be fully charged in two hours instead of the standard five hours when utilising a fast charger.

TVS Ronin-based custom projects showcased
 

This year, TVS unveiled four Ronin-based custom projects made by various design firms during the MotoSoul festival in Goa. They include the TVS Design Team's SCR, the German company JvB Moto's Agonda, Rajputana Customs' Wakizashi, and the Indonesian company Smoking Garage's Musashi. Each of these innovations radiates a distinctive vibe both in terms of appearance and usability, and it broadens the possibilities for Ronin owners who want to customise their motorcycles.

Suzuki updates its scooters for 2023

The Access 125, Burgman Street 125, and Avenis 125 motorbikes from Suzuki were introduced in India in 2023. These scooters start at a price of 79,400, 93,000, and 92,000 rupees, respectively. The sole modification made to these scooters is their compliance with OBD2-A and E20 gasoline, which will be required as of 1 April 2023. While the OBD2-A technology enables onboard engine diagnostics, compliance with E20 fuel means that these scooters may run on a 20% ethanol blend in fuel.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 spied again

The Shotgun 650, a forthcoming model from Royal Enfield has once more been spotted on Indian roads. The Shotgun 650 will have a round headlight with a pretty stylish cladding surrounding it, as is typical of a RE, and will have a retro design concept. Moreover, the Shotgun has a split seat configuration and a split-type tubular grip rail. It will be the fourth 650cc Royal Enfield motorbike.
