BMW Group India is preparing to introduce its all new 450cc twin cylinder motorcycle in the first half of 2026. The company aims to attract aspiring luxury bike buyers after limited success with its 310cc model. Moreover, the 450cc bike, along with upcoming 1 litre motorcycles, is expected to strengthen BMW Motorrad’s presence in the mid capacity premium segment. In addition, the new platform may help the company continue its double digit growth in India’s luxury two-wheeler market.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The 450cc twin-cylinder will come during the course of the year, in the first half.”
He explained that the new bike would play a key role in enhancing BMW Motorrad’s presence in the mid capacity premium motorcycle segment. This segment offers better scale than large capacity superbikes in India. Therefore, the company expects the launch to attract urban riders who prefer mid range luxury motorcycles.
Hardeep Singh Brar further highlighted, “The double digit is a bare minimum now for us. We are not chasing volumes. We want to sell whatever we are selling to be profitable.”
He further added that demand for premium motorcycles in India is largely driven by experienced urban riders, whereas top end superbikes see limited traction. Hence, BMW Motorrad plans to strengthen its luxury category with more models and community building ride initiatives.
The company stated that despite some criticism about the 310cc bike and CE electric range being overpriced, it will maintain the luxury and performance standards. Moreover, BMW Motorrad intends to avoid discounting or reducing features. In addition, upcoming launches are expected to reinforce long term brand positioning while sustaining the company’s leadership in India’s premium motorcycle segment.
