Benelli India launched the TRK 552 and TRK 552X on October 22, 2026. These models update its adventure touring lineup. Both bikes get a new 554cc parallel twin engine, a six speed gearbox, and revised touring gear.

The two motorcycles serve different tasks. Standard TRK 552 handles road touring. TRK 552X targets riders heading off tarmac. Bookings are open now across authorised Benelli Keeway dealerships.

Here is the breakdown of prices, engine, features, and rivals for these new Benelli bikes.

Both bikes share their engine, brakes, electronics, and core touring setup. But Benelli gave them distinct wheels, ground clearance, and seat heights.

Benelli TRK 552Rs. 7.22 lakh
Benelli TRK 552XRs. 7.74 lakh
Benelli TRK 552X Limited EditionRs. 7.90 lakh

The motor is a 554cc, liquid cooled and DOHC parallel twin engine. It pushes out 52 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 49 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. A six speed gearbox with a slipper clutch provides power.

There are no harsh downshifts when entering corners. The rear wheel hop avoiding slipper clutch helps prevent wheel hop when shifting gears hard on mountain roads.

Standard 552 sticks to blacktop duty. The 552X brings hardware built for rough trails.

Honestly, these price tags place both right in the premium middleweight bracket. Don't forget to budget extra for insurance, registration, riding gear, and routine service.

Benelli TRK 552 Features: TFT Display, Navigation and Comfort

Benelli TRK 552 Features

Benelli focused heavily on rider comfort and display tech here. A 5 inch TFT screen comes standard, featuring Bluetooth, navigation, and T BOX connectivity. You get turn by turn directions, route planning, offline maps, and trackback features.

Trackback helps you retrace steps when trails disappear. Offline maps save your hide when cellular signal drops in remote valleys. Check exact connectivity costs with your dealer before signing.

A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) also comes installed. It displays live pressures and triggers alerts if numbers drop suddenly. Proper air pressure keeps your tires healthy and steady on highway runs.

The shared touring equipment includes:

  • Heated grips and a heated seat
  • Redesigned seats with additional padding
  • Adjustable handlebars
  • Hand guards
  • A 20 litre fuel tank

Heated seats and grips make chilly morning rides bearable. The adjustable handlebar helps tweak ergonomics. My take: that extra seat foam will save your backside on 500km days.

Underneath sits a tubular steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm. A 50mm Marzocchi upside down front fork handles front suspension, paired with a preload adjustable rear monoshock.

Twin 320mm floating front discs and a 260mm rear disc handle braking. Bosch dual channel ABS stops wheels locking up. Weight stands at 235kg wet for both models.

TRK 552 vs TRK 552X: Wheels, Ground Clearance and Seat Height

TRK 552 Ground Clearance

Wheel choice marks the biggest split between these two machines. The standard 552 stays on tarmac, while the 552X goes off road.

The base TRK 552 rides on 120/70ZR17 front and 160/60ZR17 rear Pirelli tyres. Its 190mm ground clearance clears broken city asphalt easily. The lower 835mm seat makes dabbling feet simpler for shorter riders.

The TRK 552X upgrades to a 19 inch front spoke wheel and a 17 inch rear spoke wheel. It wraps them in 110/80R19 front and 150/70R17 rear Metzeler rubber. Ground clearance jumps to 210mm.

That extra 20mm of clearance helps cross rock strewn trails without scraping bottom. But do not confuse this with a lightweight dirt bike. At 235kg, muscle is required to wrestle it through slow tight spots.

The 552X sits tall at 860mm. Tip toeing a heavy motorcycle at traffic lights gets tiring fast.

Colour options differ too. Buy the TRK 552 in black or white. Choose the TRK 552X in green or white, or pick yellow on the Limited Edition.

Benelli TRK 552 Rivals and Price Comparison

Benelli TRK 552 Rivals

These bikes face tough middleweight competitors. Prime rivals include the Honda NX500 and Kawasaki Versys 650, though hardware specs vary widely.

Benelli TRK 552Rs 7.22 lakh
Benelli TRK 552XRs 7.74 lakh
Benelli TRK 552X Limited EditionRs 7.90 lakh
Honda NX500Rs. 7.44 lakh
Kawasaki Versys 650Rs. 8.63 lakh

Honda's NX500 brings a lighter parallel twin alternative. Kawasaki's Versys 650 packs a bigger 649cc motor with pure 17 inch road wheels.

The Suzuki V Strom 650XT is officially dead in India. Yet, many riders still look for it on the used market.

I'd pick based on long term ownership costs, not just sticker price. Look hard at local dealer support, insurance quotes, and spare part costs before committing.

Should You Buy the Benelli TRK 552 or TRK 552X?

Benelli TRK 552 And Benelli TRK 552X

The TRK 552 fits long highway commutes best. Its alloy wheels, street tires, and low seat keep road riding simple.

The TRK 552X works if you tackle broken roads often. Spoked wheels and off road rubber give it proper adventure capability. Just respect that 235kg mass before diving into deep mud.

Running costs depend on your annual mileage, fuel rates, maintenance, tire swaps, and insurance. Benelli hasn't released official fuel economy numbers, but expect around 22–25 kmpl from this 554cc engine.

Wait for real world road tests to verify true mileage figures.

That 20 litre fuel tank promises decent distance between fills. Still, actual touring range shifts with your wrist control and road conditions.

Ever tried filtering through Bangalore traffic on a giant adventure bike? Both TRK models will feel massive in gridlock and tight parking bays. Must check if you can handle that weight during low speed U turns.

The takeaway

The Benelli TRK 552 and TRK 552X run identical engines but target different riding styles. Standard TRK 552 swallows highway miles. TRK 552X adds taller clearance and spoked wheels for rougher trails. Choose the one that matches your height, route choices, and total budget.
