Bajaj Launches Chetak C25: Most Affordable Electric Scooter for City Riders

Bajaj Auto has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the Chetak C25. This new model arrives as the most affordable Chetak yet, priced at Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom). With a focus on daily city travel, the C25 promises easy handling, practical features, and a familiar neo-retro design. Perhaps most importantly, it aims to make electric mobility more accessible for everyday riders.

Designed for Urban Convenience 

The Chetak C25 keeps the signature Chetak styling but adds several fresh design updates. The scooter still features a solid metal body, which adds a premium feel and better durability. However, the front apron now looks sharper, with indicators placed beside the headlamp. In addition, the side panels get new graphics, while the rear sports a sleek full-width taillight.

Bajaj offers six colour options, giving buyers plenty of choice. Moreover, the scooter includes a long 650 mm seat and 25 litres of under-seat storage. This setup makes daily errands and office commutes more comfortable. The brand also highlights an IP67 rating, which helps the scooter handle dust and rain with confidence.

Electric Power Made Simple

The Chetak C25 has a 2.5 kWh battery mounted in the floorboard. This placement keeps weight low and improves balance. The hub-mounted motor produces 2.2 kW of peak power and pushes the scooter to a top speed of 55 kmph. Bajaj claims a range of up to 113 km, which should suit most city users.

The included 750W off-board charger can fill the battery from 0 to 80 percent in around 2 hours and 25 minutes. A full charge takes under four hours. In addition, the scooter can climb a 19 percent slope with two riders, due to hill-hold assist.

Comfort, Features, and Handling

Bajaj has also updated the suspension for better ride comfort. The C25 uses telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. This setup helps riders handle broken roads and tight turns more confidently. There’s also a front disc brake that adds extra safety during sudden stops.

On the feature side, the scooter gets a colour LCD display with smartphone connectivity. Riders receive call and message alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and music controls. The reverse mode and guide-me-home lights also improve daily usability.
